Kaplan Open Learning works in partnership with two world-class UK universities, the University of Essex and the University of Liverpool and we are currently seeking a Head of Digital Learning for each of our partnerships to lead the development and delivery of our online learning.
The Head of Digital Learning plays a key role in driving the development and delivery of our online learning environment, with a strong emphasis on innovation and the implementation of progressive solutions that improve both educational outcomes and operational processes.

What you’ll bring to the role
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, encouraging a collaborative and positive environment.
- Ability to navigate and address the commercial aspects of the higher education sector, ensuring alignment between academic and business objectives.
- A strong understanding of VLEs (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard) and their management.
- Proficient in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and skilled in using digital learning tools and platforms.
- Experienced in automation solutions, including Microsoft Power Automate and UiPath, to streamline and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Trello, or similar)
- Experience integrating AI tools into educational platforms and instructional design workflows

*Please note that the annual leave entitlement will be calculated on a pro rata basis if the role is part time.
