The Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a dedicated Course Review Assistant committed to excellence in online learning.

The Course Review Assistant plays a vital role in upholding academic excellence by conducting online course quality reviews that support instructional effectiveness and student success. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic, team-oriented settings and are eager to apply their knowledge to elevate online course design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager of Quality Assurance and the Associate Executive Director of Online Learning as assigned.
  • Perform internal course reviews in alignment with COCE’s standards and processes.
  • Prepare courses for Quality Matters (QM) Certification, including pre-review documentation and support.
  • Assist in documenting online academic program reviews and certifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and cross-functional teams to maintain a culture of quality and innovation.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and proactively seeking out solutions.
  • Champion a collaborative team culture that values shared success and open communication.
  • Execute job-related tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager and Associate Executive Director of Online Learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a concentration in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Professional Development, or related area and two years in instructional technology, instructional design, quality review or related experience required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with the Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric.
  • Experience teaching in online/hybrid/remote higher education settings.
  • Deep understanding of quality standards in online education.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theories and frameworks.
  • High proficiency in using Canvas LMS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for evaluating course effectiveness.
  • Adaptability to evolving priorities in a dynamic academic environment.

Preferred Industry Certifications:

Quality Matters (QM) Higher Education Certifications: Applying the QM Rubric (APPQMR) and Peer Reviewer Course (PRC).

Salary:

$31 per hour.
