The Postsecondary Education and Workforce team seeks a Senior Director to lead partnerships, member engagement, and strategic initiatives that help achieve our united vision. Reporting to the Vice President of Postsecondary Education & Workforce Programs, this role requires a collaborative, people-focused leader capable of driving member value, recruitment, and cross-sector collaboration across education and edtech communities. The successful candidate will meet member recruitment goals, strengthen engagement opportunities, and implement strategies that drive overall member value and satisfaction. They will bring high energy and inspiring leadership to engage academic and IT leaders through communication, networking, and data sharing. This is a remote position located in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Work with 1EdTech staff to maintain an in-depth understanding of 1EdTech’s vision mission, strategic objectives and goals to advance learning with technology globally
  • Actively engage institutional leaders in community collaboration to accelerate adoption of 1EdTech Standard portfolio and track their success into practice
  • Facilitate activities for member special interest groups, strategically assisting in the development of meeting agendas and recruitment of speakers to address member priorities, and other activities as identified.
  • Increase engagement and develop resources to help member institutions easily find high impact resources for leveraging 1EdTech standards and practices and disseminate resources externally to the larger higher education community.
  • Ensure every member institution knows the importance of requiring 1EdTech conformance certification in achieving a trusted, transparent and interoperable digital ecosystem.
  • Manage strategic partnerships such as EDUCAUSE, AACRAO, WCET, and other partner organizations to expand market awareness and adoption of 1EdTech standards and practices.
  • Conduct new member orientations to provide a thorough introduction to 1EdTech’s strategic goals and objectives, gain an understanding of member priorities to engage them productively in appropriate 1EdTech activities to support their strategic objectives for joining the 1EdTech member community.
  • Conduct annual strategy sessions with member institutions to ensure continued engagement and retain membership.
  • Recruit new members to contribute to the collaboration.
  • Present on behalf of 1EdTech at industry conferences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of experience working with postsecondary education and workforce experience or related educational sectors
  • Deep subject matter expertise in digital credentials and their role in workforce development and learner mobility
  • Served as a director or related leader role that guided strategic direction of unit within an organization
  • Worked closely with a technology provider to implement a product or served at a technology provider organization and worked closely with institutional staff.
  • Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree.

Skills

  • Experience facilitating highly effective collaborative activities and meetings with technical and non-technical senior leaders.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with grant writing and management.
  • Familiar with 1EdTech standards portfolio and their impact on the education sector
  • Must learn quickly, be self-directed, possess excellent problem-solving skills, enjoy helping others solve problems, and quickly and efficiently switch focus among many concurrent tasks.
  • Understanding of procurement in postsecondary education and how interoperability can support ecosystem management of procured tools
  • Strong written and communication skills with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Comfortable presenting information to both technical and academic audiences.
  • Comfortable generating member leads and converting into new memberships using go-to-market skills, communication cadences and technology tools such as Salesforce
  • Must be customer oriented and have a passion for helping others effectively achieve solutions to their benefit.
