How You Will Make An Impact

As a Training Manager, you will lead a team of Operations Trainers who support the onboarding and training of team members and executing other training initiatives in the Distribution Center. You will proactively coach the team on processes, procedures, quality standards, workflow and scheduling of all training activities. Your primary role will be to ensure teams are set up for success by creating effective training plans and processes for the entire distribution center team. You are responsible for collaborating with leadership to identify training needs and create development plans for individuals, including onboarding plans for leadership roles. In this role you will be responsible for understanding all training materials, coordinating and conducting training as needed, following up and providing feedback with team members, and monitoring training progress. You will thrive in this position if you are open to giving and receiving constructive feedback, passionate about keeping thredUP operations running smoothly, and committed to the development and success of team members.

Schedule: Must be available to support team members across all shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. While this role does not require a 7-day work week, the Training Manager is expected to maintain a flexible schedule that accommodates team needs, with rotating weekend coverage a couple of times per month, depending on hiring demands.

In This Role You’ll Get To:

  • Support the selection, training, and development of Training Specialists and team members.
  • Manage new team members during the designated training period.
  • Intake, oversee, organize and communicate all training initiatives in the building.
  • Work closely with Training and Operations leadership to understand training strategy, define local needs, and tailor programs for the distribution center team.
  • Drive engagement and retention of team members through effective and innovative training processes.
  • Consult with teams to develop training schedules and plans and evaluate effectiveness with reporting.
  • Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve processes, conduct quality audits, and assist in creating and implementing new operational processes as needed.
  • Partner with content developers to create effective, engaging learning solutions.
  • Develop and maintain training records to track training compliance.
  • Role model safety standards by building a safe work environment and culture within the team.
  • Organize and coordinate with Operations leadership on leader onboarding plans.
  • Facilitate future Leadership Development training materials.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced Leader and expert-level communicator and facilitator with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detailed understanding of thredUP operations processes, quality standards, and training materials.
  • Ability to help both create and facilitate clear & concise training material as needed.
  • Enthusiastic about the development and training of all team members.
  • Experience giving and receiving constructive feedback and proactively following-up with team members, peers, and leaders.
  • Keep business and customer information confidential.
  • Role models independent judgment and operates with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional connections with team members.
  • Able to stand or walk for an entire shift (8-12 hours per day) as well as bend down, reach overhead, lift/carry up to 30lbs and push/pull wheeled clothing racks weighing up to 150lbs.
