About Organization

Maverik started when a young man from Wyoming decided to open a business in his hometown. In 1928, 20-year-old Reuel Call opened a two-pump gas station in Afton, Wyoming with money he earned from renting roller skates. The business soon grew, and he started providing fuel to surrounding towns and ranches.
In 1959, W.A. Krause and T.S. Gentle opened a single full-service gas station in Hampton, Iowa, marking the start of Kum & Go. Their focus was on offering more than fuel by creating a welcoming and community-oriented experience. This vision set the foundation for Kum & Go's growth into a well-known convenience store chain serving multiple states.
Now, following Maverik's acquisition of Kum & Go in 2023, our combined footprint spans over 800 stores across the West, Midwest, Central, and Mountain regions of the United States—and we’re continuing to grow. Together, we are committed to providing exceptional service, quality products, and fueling life’s adventures for communities nationwide.
Maverik is built on teamwork. Everyone at the company works toward the same goal - to thrill ALL our customers while living our purpose: having fun together building the coolest convenience-experience on the planet
