Department Information

A part of the College of Lifetime Learning, Georgia Tech Professional Education is the global campus and lifetime education arm of the Georgia Institute of Technology offering professional development courses, certificate programs, and online master’s degrees in a variety of formats to meet the needs of working professionals and industry partners in STEM and business fields worldwide. On an annual basis, GTPE serves and supports more than 100,000 learners, the “students,” who don’t live on campus but outnumber those who are physically here, representing industries such as data science and analytics, safety and health, cybersecurity, and project management.

Job Summary

The Digital Learning Support Specialist supports the design, development, and implementation of innovative digital learning solutions that enhance the educational experience for both students and faculty. This role provides training, guidance, and resources to educators on best practices for integrating technology into teaching and learning. By promoting the effective use of digital tools and platforms, the specialist ensures that instructional strategies are engaging, accessible, and aligned with institutional goals for academic excellence.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 –

Provide training and professional development opportunities for instructors on the effective integration of digital tools and technologies in their courses

Job Duty 2 –

Evaluate and recommend digital learning platforms and resources that align with the institution’s educational goals and objectives.

Job Duty 3 –

Support the implementation of online and blended learning courses by assisting with course design, development, and assessment

Job Duty 4 –

Analyze data on student engagement and performance to inform continuous improvement of digital learning initiatives

Job Duty 5 –

Create and maintain instructional materials and resources that promote best practices in digital pedagogy and technology use

Job Duty 6 –

Stay informed about trends and innovations in digital learning and technology to enhance the institution’s offerings and strategies

Job Duty 7 –

Advocate for the needs of faculty and students regarding digital learning resources and support, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment

Job Duty 8 –

Collaborate with faculty to design and develop engaging digital learning experiences that enhance student learning outcomes

Job Duty 9 –

Collaborate with instructional designers and technical staff to ensure the seamless operation of digital learning systems and platforms

Job Duty 10 –

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

Required Experience

4+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Preferred skills include web application and/or platform support OR educational technology solutions integration and delivery; Strong technical writing, documentation, and/or training; Knowledge of XML or other markup language; Skills in large-scale scripting and automation of tasks

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Master’s degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of digital credentialing platforms, and learning management systems, particularly Canvas, is preferred.
  • Knowledge to support standards and practice for offering credentials across non-credit, for-credit and professional development offerings. 
  • Research and benchmark industry best practices in credentials, CLRs, LERs and make process improvement recommendations. 
  • Support faculty, staff and learners in receiving distributed credentials and liase with involved stakeholders (marketing, IT, registrar, and internal issuers). 
  • Ability to create and enter credentials in the system using Adobe Creative Suite or similar applications. 
  • Ability to align creative efforts with overarching brand goals, business objectives, market trends and company values. 
  • Demonstrated understanding and communication of brand identity though visual content creation.
  • Share commitment to the learners experience and to upholding and maintaining the integrity of academic records.
  • Ability to multi-task and champion, be point of contact, and provide administrative support for digital credential use across campus. 
  • Maintain support and KB articles for learner support.

Proposed Salary

$75,751.00 (min) – $105,518.00 (max)
