Job Description

Job Title: Corporate Training Specialist

Location: Corporate

Department: People Team

Job Summary:  

The Corporate Training Specialist is responsible for delivering a quality and effective learning experience for all Corporate Associates.  The Corporate Training Specialist delivers core, ongoing, and roll-out training programs to meet established business goals and ensure consistent program execution. 

Principal Duties:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of Wawa University training programs while utilizing proper and effective training techniques. Serve as the primary facilitator of formal training for corporate associates by effectively facilitating ILT and VILT training sessions that create high levels of associate engagement, participation, and knowledge retention.  Support Store Operations learning initiatives as needed, including ILTs and VILTs.
  • Partner with Corporate Supervisors and Managers on effective training behaviors.  Provide recommendations for training program development and evaluate effectiveness of existing programs from both a delivery and content standpoint.  Proactively communicate with Learning Delivery Supervisor regarding state of training. 
  • Work with Change and Learning Team and People Team Business Partners to assess and monitor trainer effectiveness metrics. Make recommendations for corrective actions as appropriate.  Ensure compliance to established training requirements through effective coaching of proper training processes and behaviors.  Coach and monitor compliance to the corporate training programs and roll outs. 
  • Partner with the Learning Delivery Supervisor to develop and implement rollout plans for corporate training initiatives, including all logistics related to new learning programs.
  • Work with Leadership Development Team and People Team Business Partners to respond to ad-hoc training requests.  Facilitate internal workshops as requested or consult with requesting party on external options.  Manage relationships with external training vendors and assist in the registration of corporate associates to programs, including executive leadership and development.  Build and maintain a catalog of quality learning offerings available to corporate associates.
  • Utilize the LMS and its functions for reports to monitor training measurements, research questions from partners, and maintain class offer.  Manage class scheduling and timing to ensure classes are full.  Ensure associates properly register for courses.
  • Provide and maintain a world class training facility.  Ensure a professional and well-maintained image, and that supplies and materials are available and replenished as needed. Proactively maintain upkeep of the training facility.

  • Demonstrates ability to “flex” delivery style to the needs of the audience

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years prior experience in facilitation of leadership curriculum
  • Prior experience in leading teams preferred
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
