Academy Manager

Charlotte, North Carolina

The Dentsply Sirona Academy is a state-of-the-art training facility for dental professionals who seek comprehensive clinical and technical continuing education, including hands-on teaching, live lectures, and on-demand webinars featuring courses taught by experts in all fields of dentistry. The academy manager oversees the Dentsply Sirona Academy in our Charlotte and Toronto locations with an emphasis on event execution and customer service.

The responsibilities of this role include:

Leadership

• Lead the Academy education center teams in Charlotte and Canada to ensure the successful execution of events.
• Provide strong mentorship and leadership to direct reports (event planners, coordinators and technical support).
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop, implement and execute customer and sales team training events consistent with business needs, practices, regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Business Development

• Identify partnership opportunities within the organization, foster communication and collaboration between departments, and align efforts and leverage resources to achieve shared goals to drive growth.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure the DS Academy continues to be the pre-eminent destination in dentistry for clinicians at every level.

Operations

• Develop and continually refine processes and protocols to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
• Maintain a professional-level meetings commitment, including a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings, weekends and holidays hours to support event preparation and execution.
• Continuously manage, forecast and review budgets to ensure accuracy. Track and report expenses to key stakeholders and communicate updates on a consistent basis.
• Work with accounting and finance team to initiate and reconcile vendor payments in a timely manner.
• Oversee master calendar of events for the Academy.

Years and Type of Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, health science, public health, education or communications from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate environment.
• The preferred candidate will have managed direct reports and budgets greater than $1 million

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

• Must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Passion for leading and inspiring a team.
• Strong attention to detail and careful follow-through.
• Creative and strategic thinker with a proven track record in events and leadership.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, under pressure and collaboratively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of Salesforce and Cvent is a plus.
• Available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
• Knowledge and experience in the dental industry is a plus.
• Travel is approximately 10%.

This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with an expectation to work three days per week in the Charlotte Academy education center located in Ballantyne.
