Responsibilities

The Digital Learning Designer creates engaging, technology-enabled learning solutions that enhance employee development and performance. This role combines creative design expertise with learning technology proficiency to develop multimedia content, digital learning tools, and innovative learning experiences across multiple platforms and delivery methods. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Digital Content Creation & Design

  • Produce and edit high-quality video content including instructional videos, training modules, promotional content, and microlearning segments
  • Lead video production lifecycle from concept through post-production, including editing, motion graphics, audio enhancement, and final delivery
  • Design and develop multimedia learning content including graphics, infographics, animations, and interactive elements
  • Create visually compelling job aids, quick reference guides, and performance support materials
  • Develop branded learning materials that align with organizational standards and visual identity
  • Design engaging presentations and visual assets for virtual and in-person training

Learning Technology Implementation

  • Build and configure digital adoption platform (DAP) solutions, including WalkMe guides, smart tips, and interactive tutorials
  • Create and maintain intranet learning resources and knowledge repositories
  • Support virtual instructor-led training (VILT) setup, including technical coordination and platform management
  • Collaborate with LMS team to optimize content delivery and user experience
  • Stay current with emerging learning technologies and recommend innovative solutions

Program & Project Support

  • Partner with Instructional Designers to translate instructional designs into engaging digital media and video content
  • Collaborate on instructional strategy and provide input on how video and digital elements can enhance learning effectiveness
  • Support learning program rollouts with creative assets, communications, and technical setup
  • Coordinate production timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ensure quality control and brand consistency across all digital learning materials
  • Provide technical support for learning events and programs

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including HR, IT, and business units
  • Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve digital learning solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute creative solutions to learning challenges
  • Document best practices and maintain asset libraries for team efficiency

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital design, multimedia production, or learning technology
  • Previous instructional design experience required – either as a practitioner or through close collaboration with instructional design teams
  • Strong video editing and production experience required with portfolio demonstrating expertise
  • Experience with learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools preferred

Technical Skills

  • Video Production & Editing: Advanced proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro) with demonstrated ability to create engaging educational content
  • Design Software: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, additional video tools)
  • Digital Adoption Platforms: Experience with WalkMe, Whatfix, or similar DAP tools preferred
  • Learning Technologies: Familiarity with LMS platforms, VILT tools (Zoom, Teams, WebEx), and e-learning authoring software
  • Instructional Design Tools: Experience with storyboarding, content development workflows, and learning design processes
  • Web Technologies: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and web-based content creation
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced skills in PowerPoint, with ability to create engaging presentations

  • Instructional Design Knowledge: Understanding of adult learning principles, learning objectives, and instructional methodologies
  • Visual Design: Strong aesthetic sense with ability to create professional, engaging visual content
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable learning new technologies and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Problem-Solving: Creative approach to solving learning and performance challenges through digital solutions
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to quality and accuracy in all deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred – ability to create content for diverse learner populations
  • Experience in corporate learning and development environment
  • Formal instructional design certification or coursework
  • Advanced video production skills including motion graphics, animation, and audio production
  • Certification in relevant software or learning technologies (Adobe Certified Expert, etc.)
  • Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
  • Background in change management or organizational communication
