Job Description

Notre Dame Learning’s Office of Digital Learning (ODL) invites applications for the position of Digital Learning Project Manager. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in higher education, an appetite for transformational learning initiatives, and a proven track record of getting things done. This position is located within ND Learning’s Office of Digital Learning and plays a critical role in facilitating projects within and across the Creative and Media and Learning Design teams, as well as the ND Learning organization more broadly.

What You’ll Do

The Digital Learning Project Manager will be a key contributor to the creation of excellent learning experiences as they manage and facilitate the successful completion of projects. Your work will cross the Office of Digital Learning’s learning design and media teams with a particular focus on end-to-end online course development projects. Additionally, you will provide program management support for the University’s online pathway programs, and other strategic initiatives as needed. Responsibilities include:

Production Management (10%) Work proactively with media professionals and project stakeholders to ensure all milestones, including learning media production and shooting schedules meet project deadlines, scope, and budget; Identified tasks and sub-tasks are being properly met. (Percent of time: 10)

Program Management (40%) Provide program support for the University’s online pathway programs and other strategic initiatives as needed; (Percent of time: 40)

Project Management (50%) Manage complex learning initiatives of varying sizes and complexity from end to end, ensuring timely and effective movement from ideation through design, development, delivery, and evaluation; Work collaboratively with faculty, informed by a deep understanding of academic schedules, workflows, and customary practices; Draft project status / summary reports for ODL and ND Learning leadership and other project stakeholders; Collaborate with the Senior Digital Learning Project Manager to utilize Asana for project management activities, including task assignment, status updates, and determining team capacity. (Percent of time: 50)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated success leading complex project workflows from ideation through launch;
  • Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and to deliver on time and within budget;
  • Experience working in an educational organization, ideally in higher education;
  • Proficiency in some or all: Google Applications; Microsoft Office; Apple Keynote; Conductor or
  • WordPress. Project Management and Productivity Software (Monday.com, Slack, etc).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification(s) related to your experience managing complex projects;
  • Graduate degree in a field related to the position;
  • Experience in or knowledge of the following areas:
  • Learning sciences, educational development/pedagogy;
  • Conducting original research into market trends, benchmarking, etc.;
  • Online and hybrid learning, including instructional design theory and methodology;

Additional Information

Salary: 70-75K, commensurate with experience

Work Model: This is an onsite position with optional remote days on Tuesdays and Fridays. As managerial discretion or project requirements demand, the Digital Learning Project Manager may be required to come into the office on Tuesdays and Fridays.
