Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University. The mission of DSL is to merge the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry’s best cinematic storytelling to deliver unique virtual reality and 2D labs and full course experiences that are efficacious, scalable, and emotionally engaging.

We are seeking a Director of Curriculum to lead the development of innovative learning materials for the Dreamscape Learn team, including immersive technologies. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by managing curriculum and instructional designers, story writers, Virtual Reality developers, and subject-matter experts who design and implement engaging, interactive curricula using best practices in education. Additionally, you will align curriculum goals with business and institutional objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Direct, manage, and oversee the design, development, coordination, and evaluation of DSL programs and projects to ensure achievement of established outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, leadership, and other staff to define and identify all required infrastructure needs to implement strategic initiatives set forth by evolving department and portfolio.
  • Lead teams that use national and local recommendations of subject-matter experts to develop learning goals for DSL courses and organize these goals into clear and logical learning progressions.
  • Translate learning goals into learning materials, including lessons, activities, and assessments.
  • Effectively and creatively use technology to enhance and scale learning in DSL courses.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of technology and adapting/implementing recommended changes in learning materials to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain resources for instructors, such as tutorials, reference materials, design standards, templates, and tools.
  • Guide the adaptation of DSL learning materials for use in K-12 education.
  • Remain proficient in best practices for education, including learning theories and instructional technologies, and adapt or revise learning material according to changing standards.
  • Help to identify or design innovative e-learning environments and educational software, such as adaptive or personalized learning platforms.
  • Serve as a representative of the university at state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils, and committees.
  • Resolve problems or issues affecting the department; direct measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
  • Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned by the Associate Dean.

Note: This is not a fully remote position. You must be able to reliably commute to Tempe AZ.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of a master’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with internal and external partners to align curriculum goals with business and institutional objectives.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment where new technological tools, pedagogical methods, and strategic priorities are continually emerging.
  • Demonstrated strong grounding in learning science, pedagogy, and instructional theories (e.g., Behaviorism, Constructivism, Universal Design for Learning).
  • Demonstrated ability to guide developers and creative teams in aligning immersive technology with learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success supervising and mentoring cross-functional teams, including curriculum designers, instructional designers, writers, developers, and SMEs.
  • Demonstrated experience setting strategic vision, managing project timelines and resources, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Proven track record in designing innovative, learner-centric curricula that incorporate best practices in education.
  • Demonstrated skill in using learning management systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including five (5) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
