About the Role:

The Director of Training & Development will build and lead a new, standardized training function from the ground up. This is a critical leadership role designed to turn our training programs into a competitive advantage, ensuring every team member has the skills and knowledge to excel. You’ll establish a scalable learning framework that impacts everyone from our warehouse associates to our corporate teams, driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and compliance across our multi-site, tech-enabled logistics network.

This role requires a strategic builder who can create structure where it’s lacking, partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), and implement systems to ensure consistency and accountability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build the Foundation:
    • Design and implement a centralized Training & Development (T&D) framework, establishing the governance, standards, and systems for all training programs company-wide.
  • Lead a Two-Pronged Structure:
    • Enterprise L&D: Directly manage the corporate Learning & Development function. You will own the Learning Management System (LMS), define best practices, and develop content for new hire onboarding, leadership training, and cross-functional skills. Operations Training: Provide strategic oversight and standardization for the on-the-ground training within our fulfillment centers, ensuring alignment within the central framework.
    • Standardize for Scale: ]Drive the standardization of at least 80% of network-wide operational training, creating consistent processes for everything from WMS usage to safety compliance, while allowing for client-specific customization.
  • Partner Across the Business:
    • Collaborate with department heads and SMEs to develop, update, and validate training content, ensuring it is relevant, effective, and aligned with company priorities.
  • Measure What Matters:
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to prove the effectiveness of training programs. You will be accountable for improving time-to-competency, reducing operational errors, and maintaining high training completion rates.
  • Champion Our Culture:
    • Develop and deploy training that reinforces our unique company culture, including our methods for problem-solving, communication, and accountability.

What You’ll Need:

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing a training function.

Industry Background:

  • Direct experience in a high-volume, multi-site environment such as logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain is strongly preferred.

Proven Builder:

  • Demonstrated success in creating and scaling a training program from an early stage, including implementing an LMS and establishing governance.

Tech-Savvy:

  • Experience in a tech-enabled operational environment is a must. You should be comfortable with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), productivity tools, and modern L&D technology.

Data-Driven:

  • A strong track record of using metrics and data to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Excellent Collaborator:

  • The ability to partner with and influence stakeholders at all levels, from front-line associates to senior leadership.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field. CPTD, CPLP, or similar certifications are a plus.
