Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Instructional Design 

  • Apply principles of adult learning theory to guide instructional design.
  • Collaborate with the Global Architectural Learning & Development team, divisional leadership, and cross-functional SMEs (e.g., Marketing, Safety, Finance, eBusiness, Sales) to develop and deliver impactful training programs.
  • Proactively engage with SMEs and L&OD Leads to assess training needs and build trust through professionalism and instructional expertise in a dynamic environment.
  • Support the implementation of training deliverables and contribute to their successful rollout.
  • Continuously evaluate new and existing training modules using system analytics, learner feedback, and performance data to enhance content quality and user experience.
  • Conduct needs analyses and participate in the design and development of training curricula.
  • Partner with SMEs and L&OD Leads to define curriculum scope and requirements.
  • Provide consultative updates and feedback to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design and develop eLearning content and blended learning solutions, including storyboarding and authoring.
  • Produce and edit multimedia assets (audio, video, photography, print) to support learning initiatives.
  • Participate in beta testing and pilot deliveries of new courses, including occasional travel for on-site support.
  • Create job aids and performance support tools tailored to specific course objectives.
  • Select appropriate instructional methods, define timelines, and prepare training materials in both digital and physical formats.
  • Establish and document clear learning objectives and assessment strategies.
  • Design targeted training activities that align with job-specific performance outcomes.
  • Optimize user engagement and reduce friction in eLearning experiences by focusing on user journey and task completion.
  • Collaborate with vendors and the L&OD Design Team to produce digital learning assets (e.g., eLearning, mobile learning, videos) and manage course production in alignment with project timelines.
  • Review and test curriculum developed by peers, offering constructive feedback and contributing to new program ideas.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing on all eLearning and video content to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Ensure training materials and modules remain current and aligned with business needs by working closely with content owners.
  • Provide design consultation and support to internal training managers, including content migration guidance.
  • Partner with the technology team to test and deploy learning content within the LMS.

Learning Campaign Effectiveness

  • Support Sales Readiness initiatives by leveraging learner data and insights.
  • Conduct learner surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and courses.
  • Use internal tools (e.g., polling, SharePoint) to gather feedback and assess learner needs.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to inform project direction and measure impact.

Enterprise Resource Program Support

  • Partner with enterprise-wide programs (e.g., Belonging & Culture, Finance, Employee Relations) to understand learning needs and co-develop training solutions.
  • Design and support the creation of diverse learning formats, including workshops, digital modules, outreach events, and other educational experiences.

Ad Hoc Responsibilities

  • Support the Paint Spanish Program as needed.
  • Assist learners in navigating learning platforms and experiences upon request.
  • Represent the GA Training Team in cross-functional meetings as appropriate.
  • Contribute to Learning & Development team initiatives and special projects.
  • Attend local and non-local training sessions as required and approved.
  • Participate in National Sales Meetings when invited.
  • Complete required paperwork/reports in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to mileage tracking, expense reporting, etc.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in HR, Education/Learning or other Business Related Field

Preferred:

  • Training/Facilitation Certification/Education
  • Instructional Design Certification/Education

Required:

  • Experience Creating Training Experiences
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in HR, Education/Training or other Business-related field

Preferred:

  • 2-3 years of Sherwin-Williams Store and/or Sales Representative Experience Project Management experience
  • Adobe, Storyline, Vyond, LMS, etc.
