We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Instructional Designer with fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (highly preferred) to join our high-performing digital learning team. You’ll work at the intersection of cutting-edge pedagogy, emerging technologies, and universal design to craft engaging digital experiences that empower learners worldwide.

You will collaborate with experienced designers and faculty to reimagine how we approach online teaching and learning. You will contribute to our vision of academic excellence, innovative course design, and emerging learning technologies that converge to create transformative student experiences.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with team members and faculty to design and develop engaging, interactive, and pedagogically sound online course materials that inspire student success.
  • Explore and recommend innovative applications of pedagogy and digital tools to enhance online teaching and learning.
  • Research and create compelling documentation and instructional resources, including interactive websites, multimedia elements, and digital learning objects that transform the online student learning experience and expand your technical expertise.
  • Leverage content authoring tools, multimedia applications, and presentation platforms to support the development of custom digital learning solutions that address specific pedagogical challenges.
  • Advocate for pedagogically sound educational technology integration by keeping team members and faculty informed about cutting-edge instructional technology developments.
  • Evaluate and recommend effective and creative use of emerging technologies that have potential value for online teaching and learning.
  • Collaboratively research and test education technology tools to support online course delivery to the China/Asia region.
  • Maintain and expand face-to-face and online faculty training, workshop, and seminar offerings.
  • Develop training materials, including job aids, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials to assist faculty with instructional design principles and the use of online teaching and learning tools.
  • Coordinate or assume other duties or projects as assigned or directed

Note: This is not a fully remote position. You must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale AZ.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Demonstrated experience in Python, Tableau, or similar from business, supply chain management, or computer information systems areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, implementing, and revising for-credit online courses and course materials in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying learning theories to the practice of online course design and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and delivering workshops and training.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials, including job aids, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials.
  • Demonstrated experience using multiple learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, edX, Coursera, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in project management (managing time, establishing priorities, distributing responsibilities, meeting milestones and deliverables).
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and resolving technology issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral and written forms

  • Describe your fluency level in both Mandarin Chinese and English, including specific examples of how you have used both languages professionally (such as presenting to stakeholders, writing and reviewing technical documentation, or facilitating cross-cultural communications).
  • Describe your experience designing and developing online educational content for higher education, including examples of courses or programs you’ve created, the learning management systems you’ve worked with, and how you’ve measured the effectiveness of your instructional design work.
  • Describe your experience with Python, Tableau, or similar analytical tools, if any, specifying which tools you’ve used and providing concrete examples of projects or analyses you’ve completed in business, supply chain management, or computer information systems contexts.
