A Glimpse of the Job

Mays Business School is seeking talented Instructional Designers levels II & III, to independently participate in the design and development of innovative, high-quality online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning content in alignment with instructional design and pedagogical best practices. Our Instructional Designers work in partnership with faculty, subject matter experts, and the Mays Business School staff to develop digitally enhanced courses that promote student engagement and interactivity with course content, peers, and instructors for programs, departments, and units across Mays Business School. Through the learning design process, you will collaborate with faculty to create high-quality learning experiences and materials that align with program objectives and you may research and evaluate emerging instructional design innovations as well as organize, prioritize, and coordinate course development deliverables. Our Instructional Designers are passionate about designing learning content and promoting student engagement while developing faculty resources and training materials to support the design process. Qualifications

Instructional Designer II

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of Experience in instructional design or related experience in K-12 education, higher education, adult learning and literacy, or training and development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than two years of experience in instructional design or related experience in K-12 education, higher education, adult learning & literacy, or training and development.
  • Experience curating, researching, writing, proofreading, and editing instructional materials.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing innovative, engaging, and accessible online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning content.
  • Experience interacting with faculty and students to provide support.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.

Instructional Designer III

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of experience in instructional design or related experience in K-12 education, higher education, adult learning and literacy, or training and development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS, MA, or PhD degree in instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum & instruction, UX/UI design, or a related field.
  • More than five years of experience in instructional design or related experience in K-12 education, higher education, adult learning & literacy, or training and development (at least 2 years in higher education).
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement innovative, engaging, and accessible online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning content that aligns with quality standards in the higher education environment.
  • Proven experience applying current trends and innovations to the planning of multimedia assets that enhance student experience through the curation and/or development of audio, video, graphics, and other media.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, as well as experience developing and delivering training in person and online to individuals and groups.
  • Experience providing staff development to instructional designers.
  • Proficiency in Canvas and contemporary learning technologies
  • Proficient in the use of basic programming relating to online learning (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Knowledge of project management best practices & tools and knowledge of project management best practices and tools.
