The Instructional Multimedia Coordinator, under direction, designs and develops multimedia materials associated with cataloged academic programs at Mays Business School. Works with faculty and instructional designers to plan, manage, and develop multimedia assets that align with the goals and needs of academic units across the programs, departments, and units of Mays Business School.

A Glimpse of the Job

Multimedia Post-Production

  • Edits and assembles final visual/audio materials.
  • Ensures consistency and monitors the technical quality of end products.
  • Supports the multimedia captioning process to ensure alignment with guidelines, policy, and regulations for accessibility.
  • Develops, creates, and integrates graphics, photographs, and custom illustrations into online course material, presentations, and print resources.
  • Meets post-production goals and deadlines.

 

Multimedia Pre-Production

  • Works with instructional designers and instructors to plan multimedia curriculum content.
  • Designs and develops multimedia materials for web-based and face-to-face educational course material.
  • Designs and develops multimedia templates alongside instructional designers and other content developers.
  • Meets pre-production goals and deadlines.

 

Multimedia Production

  • Assists with multimedia production including camera operation, set and lighting design, and audio production.
  • Provides input to technical decisions on appropriate lighting, shooting angle, placement and type of microphone, etc.
  • Meets production goals and deadlines.

 

Leadership and Project Management

  • Balances creative requirements with schedules, budgets, and resource limitations.
  • Manages work assignments using project management tools.
  • Collaborates in the design and review of educational course material.

 

Student Operations

  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of current design trends and advances in technology-mediated learning.
  • Identifies work process improvements.
  • Assists in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving operational problems with multimedia equipment and facilities.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of related experience in unreal engine

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience operating camera and studio equipment.
  • Experience in pre-production, production, and post-production of multimedia assets for higher education course content.
  • Familiarity with course design principles and practices.
  • Experience working with instructional designers and instructors.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of desktop publication, graphic manipulation, and media application software.
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of video codex and compression.
  • Strong understanding of video production principles, including lighting, sound, and composition.
  • Experience using online streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube, Mediasite, Vimeo, etc.).
  • Ability to create content that drives engagement.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • A passion for creating quality educational content.
