Job Summary

The Biggio Tech unit within the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning supports enterprise-level instructional technologies and Engaged and Active Student Learning (EASL) spaces. Reporting to the Manager of Biggio Tech, the Instructional Technology Specialist will provide technical support and proactive solutions for faculty and students using Auburn University’s instructional technology ecosystem. This role focuses on ServiceNow (SNOW) management, including ticketing workflows and data-driven decision making, and Knowledge Base (KB) development, providing “Just-in-Time” support and ensuring accessibility compliance. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders including faculty, technical colleagues, and vendor partners.

Essential Functions

  • ServiceNow Management
    • Create, manage, and resolve ServiceNow tickets promptly
    • Gather service usage and needs data
    • Configure templates and maintain accurate ticket documentation
    • Collaborate with OIT on ServiceNow development
  • Knowledge Base & Communication
    • Create and update Knowledge Base based on feedback and trends
    • Develop and implement procedures to ensure articles are accessible and consistent
    • Maintain public facing resources, eg website for accuracy
  • User Support
    • Provide support for Canvas, Panopto, Zoom, Qualtrics and other instructional tools while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
    • Support the Engaged and Active Student Learning (EASL) spaces as needed
    • Collaborate with OIT and other stakeholders on technical issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions—written and verbal
    • Participate in relevant instructional technology committees and communities at Auburn University
    • Support accessibility compliance instructional materials and classroom technologies
    • Contribute to faculty development programs and technology training sessions as needed

  • Public speaking and/or workshop facilitation
