You Will

This is a full-time temporary position, that can be done remotely.  Approximately 35 hours per week to October 2026. 

Essential Responsibilities

Essential Functions – Primary duties of the position

Working with the Director of the K-12 Program, the K-12 Program temporary Associate will contribute to the maintenance and stewardship of a modern, inclusive, accessible and fun Girl Scout National Program Portfolio. This role works collaboratively across GSUSA and with external partners to manage the creation and updating of badges, awards, activities, and other K-12 programs. They are responsible for understanding youth development and education trends, providing subject matter expertise in program development for GSUSA and Girl Scout Councils.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop programs that deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), are inclusive and relevant and informed by data, council, external expert and girl feedback. 
  • Partner with cross functional teams such as marketing, DEIRJ, membership, and fund development to create programmatic opportunities for K-12 members
  • Convene groups of stakeholders, which could include external experts, council staff, volunteers and youth members, to provide feedback and inform on programmatic content and direction. 

Experience / Skills: 

  • Program Development Expertise: functional understanding and passion for ongoing learning in topics including K-12 education and childhood development; experience implementing non-formal educational programs; special knowledge in some to all of Girl Scouts’ program areas, including the Highest Awards, service, life skills, arts and entrepreneurship.
  • Convening skills: ability to bring together a diverse group of people, ensure all voices are heard and build toward alignment and consensus.
  • Collaboration skills: open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Project management skills: ability to project plan and manage details on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships with wide variety of people and work in cross functional team environment
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal, to multiple audiences 
  • Design skills: ability to create presentations and other materials that are easy to understand 
  • Organizational skills: ability to analyze, organize, and synthesize information

Required Technical Skills

  • Full knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook 

You Need

Preferred Education and Experience (i.e., certifications) 

  • College graduate preferred

Work Environment 

  • This person can work remotely or at the GSUSA headquarters in NYC

Salary range –  $20.00 – 30.00 per hour, based on experience and geography
