The K-5 Instructional Designer supports this goal by ensuring high-quality curricular projects are delivered on time and with excellence.

Why we need you 

Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the part-time position of K-5 Instructional Designer. The K-5 Instructional Designer will be responsible for managing projects related to the instructional integrity and design of Springboard Collaborative’s curricular resources. A successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in instructional design, early literacy, and curriculum development, with a high focus on our customers and results. This is a part-time, remote position, and candidates must reside in the U.S. Expected time commitment is 28 hours per week or less, and pay is $40.38/hour.

The K-5 Instructional Designer will report to the Assistant Vice President, Curriculum & Instruction and work as part of the Product & Service Team. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team to maximize the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

• You support project management of curriculum, professional learning, and assessment integration to ensure successful learning outcomes for teachers, students, and families participating in Springboard programming.
  • Work in partnership with the AVP of Curriculum and Instruction and the Senior Director, Learning and Development, to develop, implement, and continuously refine Springboard Collaborative’s instructional framework and professional learning strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Success Partner, K-5 Curriculum Specialist, and Family Curriculum Specialist to design and update curricular maps and resources that enable teachers to deliver instruction with fidelity.
  • Oversee the maintenance of curriculum documentation, including course maps and learning objective frameworks.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the Curriculum & Instruction team’s output effectively supports programming.
• You are a subject matter expert and strategic partner, supporting the development of curriculum and instruction products in alignment with the Springboard Collaborative instructional point of view, state standards, and current research.
  • Serve as a primary consultant and approver for all curriculum and instruction products.
  • Understand evolving school district needs to ensure product development addresses current and future priorities and achieves student growth across partners.
  • Stay informed about curriculum products in the marketplace, as well as national and state content standards and curriculum policy.
• You ensure that internal and external student data informs curricular development and instructional improvement.
  • Provide guidance on the use of student data for instructional decision-making.
  • Apply evidence-based instructional practices and strategies to support high student growth and achievement.

• You have 5+ years of experience in educational publishing, instructional design, curriculum development, or related fields.
• You have 3+ years of teaching experience in a K-5 environment. 
• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education. 
• You have 3+ years of experience in early literacy education.  
• You have experience managing projects in a high-quality, results-driven, team-oriented environment.
• You deeply understand K-5 academic standards and how to develop aligned curricula, instructional materials, assessments, and professional development.

It would also be nice if you had:

• Have an understanding of Agile methodologies and have a proven ability to collaborate with product management teams.
• Have familiarity and experience with programs rooted in the Science of Reading.
• Have experience working with large U.S. public school districts.

Compensation

This part-time position has a pay of $40.38/hour, with an expected time commitment of ~28 hours/week.

Location and travel

Applications are welcome from any location within the United States. This is a remote position.

Springboard requires in-person employees at a Springboard facility or participating in in-person programming or events to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of a CDC-authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be asked to provide their COVID-19 vaccination status and proof of vaccination, as required.
