Job Summary:

Under general supervision, support the employee learning, development, and engagement programs, including learning and employee engagement programs analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and iteration. Plan, coordinate, and execute programs related to employee learning, engagement, retention, and leadership development. Design training, job aids, multimedia courses, and other materials. Apply a creative attitude, ability to build relationships across the organization and promote values and build culture. Facilitate learning and engagement initiatives across the organization and help identify learning and engagement needs, propose new courses based on program and course evaluations and organizational needs assessment results. Perform other duties as required.

Core Activities:

  • Deliver employee training and leadership development training for a variety of audiences with a focus on equity, inclusion, and accessibility and integrates technology and digital learning tools.
  • Facilitate employee engagement, relationship-building, team building activities at the team level across the organization in support of building a culture of inclusion.
  • Create courses and events in the LMS to include pre- and post- assessments.
  • Administer program evaluations, gather feedback, and make recommendations to refine and improve current programs.
  • Oversee program enrollment, course registration, and calendar logistics and communications.
  • Create employee training courses for a variety of learners and audiences (onsite, hybrid, remote).
  • Generate reports from course feedback and program feedback surveys.
  • Make recommendations to management on refining and improving current programs.
  • Communicate information on programs and activities with a focus on change management best practices and across a variety of channels for different audiences.
  • Build relationships across different business areas to increase awareness and insight into their organizational objectives, values, and activities.
  • Develop learning activities, multimedia materials, job aids, facilitator guides, and lesson plans for instructor-led, online, and hybrid courses, integrating technology and digital learning tools.
  • Maintain an ongoing familiarity with best practices and innovations in the fields of learning and development, engagement, online and hybrid learning, and Adult Learning to continuously improve and make recommendations to the team.
  • Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) database using adult learning best practices, including data and reporting.
  • Provide coaching and support services for LMS content creators/authors and individuals working through online or instructor-led learning modules.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or SHRM/CPLP in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in teaching, program presentation, training facilitation, or a combination of.
  • Experience delivering employee training to adult learners of various knowledge and levels.
  • Solid understanding of general People and Culture programs and practices.
  • Familiarity with a variety of learning technologies and multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to operate in an English language-dominant organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom platform, web-based learning tools, and other learning support applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and excellent verbal communication with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to incorporate DEIA practices and principles in all projects and programs.
  • A high degree of versatility and ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of projects and programs and interact with diverse learning audiences and workgroups.
  • Experience modeling transparent communication, self-awareness, and accountability, working collaboratively, listening with curiosity, and working iteratively.
  • Ability to center relationship and accountability, especially in creating an outstanding first contact and ongoing relationships for our employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Ability to work within, and maintain Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Core Values.

Annual Compensation Range:

$68,640 – $82,000 Starting rate will vary based on previous experience and relevant skills/knowledge set
