Job Description

As a Learning Design Senior Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the creation of Best Buy enterprise learning content. In this role you will focus on the development of learning experiences that factor in the needs of employees, customers and the business. A successful candidate will have experience in project management, adult learning theory, and content development.

This role is remote eligible, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.

What you’ll do

• Manage multiple learning projects, priorities and expectations through effective communication, cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills enabled through technology.
• Drive evidence-informed, high-quality design of relevant learning experiences and performance enhancing solutions determined by audience and learning objectives.
• Track and experiment with design methodologies, tactics and modalities, shifting the team to industry leading solutions.
• Accountable to identify the modality that prioritizes the learner’s needs and experience that ensures the desired outcomes.
• Leverage courage to align key stakeholders on design strategies by influencing through critical thinking.
• Maintain adaptability through learning agility, growth mindset and a positive attitude.

Basic qualifications

• 2 years of experience in instructional design
• 2 years of experience with content creation and facilitation
• 2 years of experience in creating training content from scratch and building learning strategies at a large scale
• Advanced PowerPoint skills, visual storytelling/visual creation

Preferred qualifications

• Educational experience (certificates, programs, degrees) in adult learning theory or topics related to instructional design
• 2 years of experience using audio editing tools such as Audacity (or similar)
• 2 years of experience using video and digital design tools such as Articulate (Rise, Storyline), Captivate, Vyond, and Adobe Creative Cloud
• 2 years of experience using Artificial Intelligence in design projects, data and research
• 2 years of experience in utilizing creative software tools (Adobe Creative suite) to enhance instructional design
• Prior experience in large corporation with multi-lingual needs and/or retailer experience
