We are looking for a creative and collaborative Learning Experience Lead to join the AP People Team. This individual contributor will play a key role in designing and developing engaging, effective learning experiences for AP’s global workforce. The ideal candidate is skilled in using e-learning tools to produce on-demand learning content and is equally comfortable supporting live training. This role involves partnering with leaders and subject-matter experts across the organization to identify learning needs and translate them into accessible, impactful solutions that align with AP priorities and support an adaptive, collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead development and delivery of live learning sessions (in person and virtual), including professional development, onboarding and DEIB-related topics. 
  • Design and develop on-demand learning experiences using authoring tools and quizzes.  
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to assess training needs and align solutions with strategic goals, and work with external vendors as needed. 
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create effective, inclusive learning experiences. 
  • Develop learning assets such as guides, resources, toolkits and multimedia content to support learning outcomes. 
  • Measure and analyze training effectiveness and learner engagement; make recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Help build a culture of continuous learning by supporting accessible and scalable development opportunities across the global organization. 
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and tools in digital learning and apply them to improve training delivery. 

Qualifications 

  • Commitment to AP’s mission and a passion for fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Minimum of two years of experience designing and developing training content in a corporate or nonprofit environment; global experience a plus. 
  • Proficiency with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate) and instructional design methodologies. 
  • Experience facilitating or supporting virtual training delivery via platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into learner-centered solutions, taking into account global perspectives and accessibility needs. 
  • Experience working with a learning management system (LMS) and using learning analytics to improve outcomes. 
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, including the use of AI tools to enhance learning design, development or personalization. 
  • Comfort working independently and proactively within a distributed team.

Salary & Benefits 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $72,000 – $88,000, based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications and market location. The Associated Press offers comprehensive benefits, which include:
