Impact

The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, evaluating, and managing org-wide professional, career, and leadership development programs which align with Shipt’s Customer Service strategic plans. The Learning and Development Manager owns the overseeing and development of all new hire orientation and training, as well as the ongoing training of all customer service employees in relation to continued skills, knowledge, systems, and processes specific to customer support. This role is responsible for evaluating individual and program performance to develop and deliver training solutions that meet identified training needs, improve processes and efficiencies, and meet overall business objectives.

Position Overview:

You can make an impact by directing structured learning experiences and monitoring their effect on key performance metrics. This includes developing and managing training courses, instructional materials, classroom handouts, and manuals. You’ll assess the effectiveness of these programs to ensure skills and techniques are applied in daily work, while identifying training needs through organizational analysis and regular feedback from Quality Analysts, Learning and Development Specialists, and Associate Managers.

Staying up to date with the latest trends and tools in training is essential for maintaining effective, relevant programs. You’ll also ensure that ongoing initiatives reflect necessary updates and changes. In support of learning and development goals, you will manage internal communication channels, create and implement skill-building content and leadership workshops, and enhance the professional growth of associate managers and customer support team members. Additionally, you’ll support and facilitate both virtual and in-person meetings and trainings aligned with business objectives.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
  • 3-5 years of learning and development experience 
  • Possesses the ability to multi-task and think on your feet to provide sound, quick solutions
  • Teaching and facilitation skills
  • Strong written communication with the ability to manage an extensive knowledge base
  • Ability to determine training objectives
  • Organizing and coordinating skills
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology
  • Skilled in preparing instructional aids and plans
  • Education background is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Excellent problem-solving, researching, and documentation skills
  • Flexible in a fast-paced environment with frequent updates

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees (and eligible family members) are covered by medical, dental, vision and more.  Employees may enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave.  Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City: 

$88,000-$176,000

All other locations:

$73,000-$147,000

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
