Learning & Development Specialist | APEI

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of empowering our workforce by managing our internal Learning Management System (Docebo), developing interactive e-learning experiences, and creating visually engaging job aids and tools.

Collaborating with teams and subject matter experts, you’ll build and shape the learning experience through social learning features, curated content channels, skill development initiatives, and more.

E-Learning Content Development

  • Design and Develop Engaging Learning Modules: Create interactive e-learning content that is visually appealing and meets the diverse needs of our employees, ensuring everyone can learn effectively.
  • Incorporate Modern, Innovative Design and Adult Learning Practices: Develop e-learning modules that leverage current trends and adult learning principles, ensuring content is engaging, relevant, and meets users at their point of need.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Lead stakeholders through project scoping by outlining training goals, required assets, SME coordination, timelines, and implementation pathways for content entering the LIFT LMS or broader learning ecosystem.
  • Ensure Accessibility and Inclusivity: Develop e-learning content that is accessible to all learners, making sure that everyone can benefit from the materials.

LMS Administration

  • Support Management of the LMS (Docebo): In tandem with other members of the L&D team, support the administration of the LMS, ensuring that it runs smoothly and meets the needs of all users.
  • Support and Guide Users: Provide ongoing support to employees, helping them navigate the LMS and accessing the resources they need.
  • Build and Maintain Learning Resources: Organize and maintain course catalogs, learning paths, requirements and certifications.

HR Intranet Oversight & Management

  • Manage and Organize the Internal HR Intranet: Support the content management and maintenance of the HR intranet (Sitefinity), ensuring information remains up-to-date, structured, and easily accessible.
  • Develop Program-Related Pages, Widgets, and Interfaces: Build and maintain program-related pages, widgets, and interfaces on the intranet to enhance user experience and facilitate easy access to resources.
  • Organize Content with Tagging and Structure: Implement and maintain a content organization system that uses tagging and logical structure to ensure employees can easily find the information they need.

Learning & Development Program Support

  • Project Management: Serve as the first point of contact for departments requesting training or development support by guiding stakeholders through intake and needs assessment.
  • Develop and Maintain L&D Programs: Work with the L&D team to create and maintain programs that support the growth and development of our employees.
  • Create Supportive Learning Tools: Design job aids and tools that are visually appealing and supportive of learners at all levels.
  • Facilitate: Support program management for Talent Development offerings, including planning and coordinating virtual and in-person sessions, workshops, and events; preparing materials; managing registrations; scheduling; coordinating technology; and executing post-event communications and surveys.
  • Assess program effectiveness: Work with the key stakeholders to review usage, participant feedback, evaluations, and key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in e-learning development and LMS administration.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for adult learning, training design, instruction, and the measurement of training effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, identify, coordinate, and track critical activities, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to various audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while juggling multiple tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Planner, Lists, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
  • Experience with eLearning software integration with an LMS (SCORM / AICC, xAPI).
  • Effective planning, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting L&D programs, training operations, or instructional workflows.
  • Experience with Sitefinity, Docebo (LMS), or similar content management or LMS platforms.
  • Experience with digital design tools such as Canva.
  • Experience hosting or supporting virtual training sessions (Zoom or Teams).
  • Experience with Predictive Index (PI) or other related behavioral assessment tools.
