Role Summary:

Under the supervision of the Learning Experience Manager/Team Leader, the Learning Experience Designer will develop and sustain strong partnership with the Learning & Development Team and other organizational key stakeholders as needed for curriculum development. They bring their expertise to successfully drive the Credit Union’s efforts in the development, design, and implementation of engaging and effective learning content. This role provides directions on instructional design models, adult learning theories, training needs analysis, training effectiveness, and prepares Learning & Development Specialists to successfully deliver the designed content. 

*This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule following a 90-day introductory period. Team members have the opportunity to work two days from home and three days onsite.

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Provide expertise by leading development, implementation, and evaluation of all technical training, education, leadership development content, and other relevant business content
  • Apply knowledge of adult learning theory to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location, and point within the learning process
  • Create learning content for traditional, online, self-paced and blended approaches
  • Analyze performance needs and designs, develops, and assesses specific learning solutions that are focused on continuous organizational learning and development needs
  • Create and develop performance and competency-based learning and performance support solutions that promote practice, retention, and application of new skills and knowledge
  • Define learning objectives and goals for success. Maps these to appropriate learning modality to build a robust training curriculum
  • Build change management plans by leading or supporting a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives
  • Lead in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behavior; develops tailored messaging and identifies appropriate distribution channels
  • Conduct content reviews with Learning & Development Specialists and/or stakeholders to ensure accuracy and validity of all training deliverables
  • Perform all duties and maintain all sensitive data with the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Display mutual respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the credit union at all times.  Display solid ethics and integrity

About You:

  • Expertise in adult learning and all aspects of instructional design for various formats, including instructor-led, eLearning, and various types of performance support
  • Proven knowledge of Instructional Design theory, iterative development processes, visual design principles, and evaluation methods
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to build/set schedules and adhere to strict timelines
  • Proven knowledge and use of AI within instructional design including high competency with prompt engineering
  • Excellent listening skills and customer service attributes
  • Must possess clear and effective oral and written communication skills

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Learning Experience Design or equivalent job role, financial industry experience preferred
  • Degree in Instructional Design, or related field required. Related job experience, relevant certifications or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school may be used in lieu of educational requirements
  • Proficiency with design, authoring, LMS and project management tools like Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, Canva, Schoox, Monday or similar programs
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of credit union industry and previous financial industry experience preferred
  • Must maintain professional demeanor and appearance
  • Independent travel is required to complete duties and attend training as necessary
  • A valid Driver License is required

Full Salary Range:

Richland, WA: $32.76 – $49.14

Spokane, WA: $31.75 – $47.62

*While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications.  This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!”
