Position Summary

As a Learning Technology Lead at Oncor, you’ll serve as the Talent Development team’s main point of contact for learning technology changes, governance, and capability building. This role is responsible for transforming how learning technologies – including the learning management system (LMS), SharePoint, e-learning authoring tools, and emerging digital tools, are used across the organization to create scalable, modern, and consistent learning experiences. This position partners closely with the LMS Supervisor to help establish governance, lead system optimization, and build capability across learning administrators.

The Learning Technology Lead will develop standardized processes, workflows, and certification pathways to elevate the effectiveness and consistency of the LMS. This role will also incorporate instructional designer responsibilities, including needs analysis, curriculum development, complex learning solution design, and helping to lead the Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy to enhance content creation and learning delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the change management, governance, and optimization of Oncor’s learning technology ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology (IT), Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Human Resource (HR) Services, Cybersecurity, and other business stakeholders to ensure system alignment, data integrity, and integration.
  • Serve as a transformational leader who modernizes systems, introduces scalable solutions, and drives continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain the governance model, processes, standards, and best practices for LMS usage across the organization.
  • Design and develop comprehensive training and process solutions using adult learning theory and best practices.
  • Ability to interface and develop trust with employees, management, and customers, create and implement effective teamwork, and apply effective project management, problem solving, change management and time management skills.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to conduct training needs analysis and identify appropriate training solutions.
  • Communicate complex subject matter to a variety of audiences.
  • Lead workshops to conduct analysis, and develop, document process flows.
  • Leads and conducts the design, development, and delivery of training and development programs that comply with regulations, company policies, procedures, work rules and management expectations and include an appropriate variety of instructional methods, settings, and technologies.
  • Researches emerging trends in training methods and technologies and recommends enhancements including AI updates.
  • Web based instructional design and development.
  • SharePoint site design and administration.
  • Instructor-led instructional design and development.

Skills:

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, and ability to translate business needs into effective learning solutions.
  • Strong inter-personal communication, project management, process design and development skills.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively to develop training materials and programs.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent and 5+ years’ experience in developing and delivering training and development programs with at least 3+ years’ experience implementing and administering LMS platforms
  • Applicants with SharePoint site creation and administration experience are encouraged to apply.

  • SharePoint sites become a well-governed, highly used resource.
  • Drives measurable improvements in learning processes, system consistency, and learner experience.
