The National PACE Association (NPA) provides leadership and support for the growth, innovation, quality and success of the PACE model of care. PACE is a program that allows older adults who need nursing home care to continue living in their homes as long as possible.

NPA is currently seeking a Manager, Instructional Design. The Manager, Instructional Design, supports the development and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for NPA members. This role designs and develops relevant and engaging content across a variety of formats, including eLearning, webinars, instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, and peer-to-peer learning. Working closely with internal and external subject matter experts, the Manager, Instructional Design ensures that educational offerings are responsive to member needs and support ongoing professional development.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create curriculum that aligns with broader education goals and ensures a cohesive learner journey.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including course outlines, content, storyboards, facilitator and participant guides, assessments, and multimedia elements applying adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Maintain course relevance and accuracy through updates informed by learner feedback, changes in federal regulations, and periodic content evaluations by SMEs.
  • Manage the implementation of learning activities in the PACE Learning Center (LMS), including setup, testing, and launch.
  • Assist with monitoring the team inbox and respond to member inquiries regarding educational content.
  • Design and support peer-to-peer learning opportunities to foster knowledge sharing and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to ensure timely development and final delivery of learning activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools and graphic/multimedia design tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to travel once a quarter to Alexandria, VA for on-site meetings and a once annual conference location TBD.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field, or the equivalent.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design or a similar role
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and SCORM packages
  • Some experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Camtasia (or other video software)
  • Experience working in a membership-based association preferred

Working Conditions

Flexible, fully remote work arrangement, including telework, offered; proximity to Washington, D.C. area preferred. Small, fast paced team environment with moderate noise levels. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars.
