Who we’re looking for 

Toyota’s  IT – Digital Employee Experiences (DEX) Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Manager – Learning & Development (L&D) Strategy & Adoption.

The Manager of Learning & Development (L&D) Strategy & Adoption will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and continuously refining the organization’s enterprise-wide learning strategy. This role ensures that learning programs align with business goals, drive workforce capability, and foster a culture of continuous growth. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with deep expertise in instructional design, learning technologies, and talent development analytics.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager – Digital Employee Experiences (DEX), the person in this role will support the organization’s objective to upskill our talent to promote growth and career mobility.

What you’ll be doing 

Strategic Planning & Alignment

  • Develop and execute L&D strategies aligned with organizational/department goals, workforce skills needs, and future capability requirements.
  • Partner with senior leaders, and functional managers to identify priority skills and create targeted learning pathways.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to adjust the learning roadmap.

Program Design & Delivery

  • Lead the design of scalable, blended learning solutions—including e-learning, instructor-led training, microlearning, and experiential learning.
  • Oversee curation and creation of learning content aligned with competency frameworks and career progression models.
  • Manage partnerships with external vendors, platforms, and subject matter experts.

Technology & Learning Ecosystem Management

  • Collaborate across the organization to optimize the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).
  • Leverage AI-driven and data-enabled tools to personalize learning and track engagement.

Measurement & Impact

  • Establish metrics to measure learning effectiveness, skills acquisition, and ROI.
  • Conduct data-driven evaluations and report findings to stakeholders, recommending adjustments to maximize impact.

What you bring 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a strategic or managerial role at a Fortune 100 company.
  • Skills/Hands on Technical proficiency:
    • Deep knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and talent development frameworks.
    • Strong familiarity with LMS/LXP platforms such as Cornerstone, Pluralsight, etc.
    • Analytical mindset with experience in learning metrics and ROI reporting.
    • Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
    •  Strategic thinker with the ability to take concepts to execution.

Added bonus if you have

  • Education: Master’s Degree
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, with at least 10 years in a strategic or managerial role at Big Tech.
