Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Director of Learning & Development (L&D) to lead our global learning initiatives, technology, measurement, and overall employee learning and growth experience. This role will be instrumental in shaping our development and career strategy, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring our employees have the skills and capabilities to drive business success as our industry and company transforms.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of adult learning principles, behavioral science, instructional design, and emerging L&D technologies, with a proven track record of developing and implementing impactful learning programs at scale.  The ideal candidate will also possess a passion for engaging with stakeholders to understand their priorities and opportunities to create impactful, creative solutions.  

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive global L&D strategy aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
    • Identify critical skill gaps and future capability needs across all levels of the organization.
    • Drive a culture of continuous learning, growth, and innovation.
    • Create buy-in across the enterprise, building key internal relationships and co-creating communication and engagement strategies that convey our investment in employee development and career growth
    • Design and implement career development frameworks and pathways to support employee growth and retention.
  • Program Design & Implementation
    • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of innovative, scalable, and engaging development, learning, and career solutions (e.g., onboarding, technical training, leadership development, sales training, professional skills) tailored to employees ranging from entry level to C-suite.
    • Leverage a blended learning approach, incorporating e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, and experiential learning.
    • Implement and optimize learning platforms (LMS) and other learning technologies, including exploring AI-driven solutions.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team.
    • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leadership, HR business partners, and department heads to ensure learning solutions address real-time business needs.
    • Manage strategic partnerships with external vendors and training providers.
  • Measurement & Impact
    • Establish robust metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of L&D programs.
    • Utilize data analytics to inform decisions and connect the dots, continuously improve learning experiences, and report on outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Budget & Resource Management
    • Manage the L&D budget effectively, ensuring cost-efficient allocation of resources.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, preferably in technology or media.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale learning strategies and programs.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of L&D professionals.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with various learning technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content authoring tools.  
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong ability to leverage data to drive decisions and demonstrate program impact.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Agile, CPTM, Coaching) are a plus.
