Job Title:
Senior Instructional Designer
Department:
Academic Affairs Administration | Teaching and Learning Institute
The Senior Instructional Designer manages instructional systems development projects in the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning. This position supports Ohio State’s commitment to teaching excellence by designing and implementing professional learning experiences that integrate digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) across in-person, hybrid, and online modalities. The designer creates innovative, engaging materials that help Ohio State educators use AI and other digital technologies to enhance learning outcomes, advance experiential learning, develop students’ AI fluency, and assess student learning in an increasingly AI-supported world.
Approximately 20% of the Senior Instructional Designer’s time will be focused on instructional systems development for further integrating AI fluency and experiential learning in the undergraduate student experience (e.g., contributing to redesigning the General Education Bookends). The designer collaborates with Drake Institute staff and university partners to develop scalable, student-facing instructional materials and professional learning resources. This position also contributes to the ongoing professional learning of Drake Institute staff and university colleagues.
