Job Summary

This position will lead and manage instructional design and media video production professionals to scope, design, develop, and deliver complex digital programs and courses to support the University and college initiatives. Establish short-term operational plans and provide leadership oversight for complex projects with college stakeholders and their faculty to design, develop, and deliver online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. Oversee the design of digital course content with faculty members, assist with curriculum development, and the integration of teaching and learning technology tools. Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned staff.

This is a 100% remote position.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:                                

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position
  • Five years of professional experience in education designing, developing, and/or teaching courses, including experience with leading/managing projects, teams, or instructional services.
  • In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience: an associate’s degree + 7 years’ experience or HS/GED + 9 years of experience. 

Skills:

  • Effectively manage and motivate team members. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with all levels of the university community and work across organizational boundaries, particularly in teaching and learning.
  • Ability to research, assess, select, implement, and support instructional media and emerging technologies that benefit the university’s teaching and learning priorities.
  • Highly developed experience in applying learning theory and pedagogy to develop instructional design strategies.
  • Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for teaching and learning, including but not limited to, multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, online collaborative tools, and high-impact practices for learning.

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading/managing instructional design teams in higher education; designing and delivering academic courses and faculty professional development, and/or teaching experience in higher education, preferably in online & blended environments.
  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related fields
