This position reports to the Vice President of Curriculum and directs the development and management of Accelerate Learning supplemental math curriculum offerings. Directs and oversees a team of content and digital production contractors to ensure high quality content is produced, deadlines are met, and products come in at or under assigned budget. This position will also serve as a thought leader who develops innovative ideas and understands the market through both internal and external forces to help drive the development of supplemental math offerings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Curriculum, develops, recommends and implements plans for supplemental curriculum materials while staying within budget.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and professionally develops a team of consultants to ensure superior work performance and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Creates and develops new grade-level appropriate K-12 math curricula that is aligned to national, state, or international standards.
  • Develops grade-level appropriate math content for students in public, private, and non-traditional school settings.
  • Develops grade-level appropriate math content for students in 1 to 1, blended, and traditional classroom settings.
  • Researches math best practices and ensure that these are supported in all supplemental products.
  • Consults with university mathematics faculty and content experts who may serve as paid reviewers for curriculum to ensure the mathematical integrity of the supplemental math product.
  • Works collaboratively with product, tech, sales, and other departments to ensure quality and alignment of content to product needs and expectations.
  • Creates, manages, and supervises the curriculum development writing and testing/piloting process, including external contractors and support staff.
  • Works with the computer programmers to produce interactive curriculum components and test usability of the curriculum interface.
  • Plans and presents professional development sessions to demonstrate the online curriculum and attends conferences and marketing events to promote the curriculum to schools and districts.
  • Assists the Vice President of Curriculum in other additional duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and communicate a multitude of ideas when considering a challenge
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Content knowledge in K-12 mathematics, with particular emphasis on high school mathematics and beyond.
  • Ability to set priorities, and to schedule and follow through on multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
  • Mastery with inquiry based learning and best practices in mathematics
  • In-depth knowledge of math standards and strong ability to decipher, unpack, align, and write highly aligned content
  • Ability to organize and articulate abstract ideas into working planning documents
  • Maturity and good judgment

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google Office Suite
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required during evenings and weekend hours
  • Must be able to travel in and outside of their remote location for conferences, events, and meetings as needed/requested.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience is required. 5 years preferred
  • District, state, or EdTech leadership experience preferred.
