Job Description Summary
Organization Summary Statement:
The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for maintaining and providing housekeeping services for the College Park Campus’ 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities, which encompass over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Training and Development Manager develops and administers staff training and development activities and initiatives that support the Department’s comprehensive training and development goals. The incumbent will organize, design, and present training programs for 300 exempt and non-exempt staff and 30 student employees. With the support of the Senior Manager of Employee Relations and Development, the position develops and tracks a curriculum that addresses safety and health compliance and technical and professional skills development for staff at all levels. The Training and Development Manager will manage the Workday Learning Management System (LMS) and other training platforms. They will also assist the Senior Manager of Employee Relations and Development with maintaining the training and development program budget. They will coordinate the planning and implementation of other programs, including employee appreciation efforts, ESOL, and translation/interpretation services.
Physical Demands:
Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation, and notes. Able to push, pull, lift, and carry objects up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
Move and set up tables and chairs as part of the room setup for training sessions.
May be asked to assist with and/or support department-wide activities in the residence halls and other campus buildings, which may require walking in and between buildings and climbing stairs.
