What are we looking for?

The Training Certification Program Manager will lead the design, development, and launch of SentinelOne’s industry-recognized certification program. This is a greenfield initiative requiring vision, execution, and deep expertise in credentialing and adult learning. You’ll drive the full lifecycle of certification creation – from defining exam blueprints and lab environments to question bank development and learner support – in partnership with SMEs, instructional designers, and platform vendors.

This role blends strategy and execution. The ideal candidate brings strong certification experience, a practical mindset, and a passion for building scalable programs from scratch. This person will be critical in shaping how our partners, customers, and employees validate and grow their technical expertise.

The Training Certification Manager is responsible for ensuring that all certification exams comprehensively and accurately align with the objectives of our customer and partner training. This role oversees the development and maintenance of a high-quality exam question bank, facilitates question development, evaluates exam performance, and supports both learners and the training team in the certification process.

What will you do? 

Program Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end creation of SentinelOne’s technical certification program framework, including credential tiers, prerequisites, and maintenance cycles.
  • Define and socialize a certification roadmap aligned to company objectives and technical curriculum maturity.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous project streams and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the team to evaluate and implement lab, proctoring, and test delivery platforms.

Certification Content Management

  • Review training content to ensure full alignment with certification objectives and industry standards.
  • Ensure alignment between certification content and training curriculum; proactively identify gaps and recommend content updates.
  • Develop scoring models and passing criteria, incorporating standard-setting methodologies like Angoff or Bookmark.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, instructors, and subject matter experts to update or enhance course coverage.
  • Project manage reviews with stakeholders to ensure program alignment.

Question Bank Development, Management, and Quality

  • Develop and oversee the administration, organization, and integrity of the certification question bank.
  • Review and revise existing questions for clarity, relevance, and technical accuracy.
  • Establish workflows for AI-assisted question drafting and SME review loops to scale development without compromising quality.
  • Evaluate question performance using analytics to determine effectiveness and difficulty levels.

Exam Development Leadership

  • Create and manage a structured certification program for training internal teams and external contributors on how to write high-quality exam questions.
  • Run internal workshops on exam question writing best practices, secure item handling, and exam validation procedures.
  • Launch a Certification Development Council to manage lifecycle governance of exams, including renewals, versioning, and SME engagement.

Student and Stakeholder Support

  • Review flagged or disputed exam questions and update or retire them as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and escalation support for candidates, instructors, and partners on exam-related inquiries.
  • Work with instructors, course developers, and certification holders to gather feedback on question effectiveness and clarity.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in exam development, certification management, or technical credentialing programs.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design, competency mapping, and learning science.
  • Experience launching new certification programs, ideally in high-growth and resource-constrained environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing high-stakes exam content and question banks.
  • Experience with exam development tools (e.g., Questionmark, ExamSoft, Moodle, or proprietary LMS platforms).
  • Hands-on knowledge of lab environments or virtualized practice testing tools.
  • Familiarity with exam standard-setting methodologies such as Bookmark or the Angoff method.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for evaluating question performance data.
  • Background in instructional design, adult learning theory, or psychometrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Education teams.
  • High comfort level working through ambiguity and building structure where little exists.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience working for an enterprise software or cybersecurity company.
  • Experience using generative AI to accelerate training and exam development.
  • IT or cybersecurity industry certifications.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and accreditation standards (e.g., NIST NICE framework, ISO/IEC 17024).

This U.S. role has a base pay range that will vary based on the location of the candidate. For some locations, a different pay range may apply.  If so, this range will be provided to you during the recruiting process. You can also reach out to the recruiter with any questions.

Base Salary Range

$142,400—$196,000 USD
