Overview

The Sr. Program Manager, Learning Solutions will own the strategy, operations, and optimization of GitHub’s global learning infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end systems powering our public, customer, and partner learning experiences—including GitHub Learn, Pearson VUE, Microsoft Learn, GitHub Skills, and integrated third-party platforms.

This individual contributes to the analysis, design, development, evaluation, and management of learning programs and initiatives by identifying organizational and learning needs, securing resources, communicating with stakeholders, and prioritizing work. Collects data to see how successfully the content is meeting pre-established learning objectives for specific deliverables. Uses data to prioritize analyses to execute on, define capability gaps for the business, improve benchmarking, and execute on learning priorities through learner-centric methodology. Initiates, facilitates, and implements core learning programs. Evaluates and analyzes ongoing effectiveness of programs. Supports and escalates customer/stakeholder needs. Organizes systems for documenting, storing, and retrieving items. Manages information architecture frameworks and content management processes. Accesses recent research and content experts in Learning and Development to inform best practices. 

By combining technical program management, data-driven insights, and change management best practices, this role ensures that GitHub’s learning ecosystem delivers seamless learner journeys, trusted credential reporting, and actionable insights that drive adoption of GitHub products at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Learning Systems Ownership: Manage and evolve GitHub’s learning systems (Pearson VUE, Microsoft Learn, GitHub Skills, CRM and voucher systems), ensuring reliability, scalability, and learner-centric design.
  • Data & Insights: Define reporting frameworks and dashboards for training, certification, and credential adoption. Partner with data and BI teams to provide actionable insights that link learning outcomes to product consumption and ARR growth.
  • Integration & Alignment: Drive alignment between GitHub and Microsoft Worldwide Learning, ensuring GitHub certifications, credentials, and data flow seamlessly into Microsoft Learn, LinkedIn Learning, and partner ecosystems.
  • Change Management & Adoption: Build and execute strategies to increase learner engagement and certification uptake through insights-driven campaigns, nudges, and system enhancements.
  • Program Operations: Establish governance for voucher distribution, credential reporting, and learner data privacy/compliance across global programs.
  • Partner Enablement: Support Global System Integrators (GSIs), Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs), and strategic partners with scalable learning operations, reporting, and systems integration.
  • Third-Party Collaboration: Engage with content developers, certification vendors, and learning platform providers to extend GitHub’s learning ecosystem and meet learners where they are.
  • Innovation & Roadmap: Define the long-term roadmap for GitHub’s learning infrastructure and analytics capabilities, supporting GitHub’s goal of training and credentialing 1 billion developers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adultlearning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Psychology, or a related field AND 5+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adult learning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or related field AND 3+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adult learning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adult learning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Psychology, or a related field AND 7+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adult learning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or related field AND 5+ years experience in training facilitation, training design and development, adult learning theory, instructional design, enablement, or equivalent field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience using learning technologies and learning management systems.
  • 7+ years experience in Enterprise Software/Saas.
  • 3+ years experience in change management and/or technology adoption.
  • Understanding of GitHub’s product portfolio (Copilot, Actions, GHAS, etc.) and its role in developer productivity.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Microsoft Worldwide Learning, Global Partner Solutions, or equivalent ecosystems.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $96,400.00 – USD $255,700.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual’s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
