Director, Continuing Education and Microlearnings

The budgeted hiring range for this position is $118,000.00-$128,000.00 a year

Position Summary:

The Director, Continuing Education and Microlearnings will lead the strategic facilitation, implementation, and continuous improvement of lifelong learning initiatives, including microcredentials, certificates, and professional development programs. This role is pivotal in bridging instructional design, student engagement, and cross-functional collaboration with the development team to ensure scalable, high-quality learning experiences. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
      • Develop and implement a strategic vision for Continuing Education and Microlearnings that aligns with institutional goals and enhances the educational experience. 
      • Oversee the end-to-end facilitation of continuing education and microcredential programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and student needs.
      • Serve as the primary liaison between development teams to ensure timely and effective program delivery. 
      • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using learner feedback, performance metrics, and industry benchmarks. 
      • Develop and manage the budget for Continuing Education and Microlearnings initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines. 
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement 
      • Collaborate with Nightingale Innovations team to lead facilitations of Continuing Education and Microlearnings digital learning products, assessments, platforms, and tools. 
      • Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, industry partners, and accrediting bodies. 
      • Lead cross-functional meetings to align on timelines, deliverables, and quality standards. 
      • Advocate for learner-centric design and accessibility in all program offerings. 
  • Innovation & Strategy 
    • Stay abreast of trends in microcredentialing, digital badging, and adult learning to inform strategic direction. 
    • Identify opportunities for new program development based on market demand and workforce needs. 
    • Contribute to partnership development and revenue-generating initiatives. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, Learning Technologies, or related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in continuing education, online learning, or workforce development. 
  • Proven experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration, especially with technical or development teams. 
  • Strong understanding of microcredential frameworks, digital badging, and competency-based education. 
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning analytics, and content authoring tools. 
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance in continuing education 
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
