We’re looking for an Instructional Designer I to join the Learning & Development team who’s curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others grow. You’ll play a key role in bringing our learning vision to life—designing and developing training that’s clear, relevant, and authentically Dutch Bros.

Job Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design/Education or 4 years of experience in e-learning development, teaching, company training, or learning design
- Experience and proficiency in working with Learning Management systems and e-learning tools (Rise 360, Storyline)
- Strong written and verbal communication and proofreading skills
- Proven skills in working with subject matter experts using discovery practices to uncover the critical elements of learning
- Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance learning design, streamline content development, and improve learner engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in e-learning development, teaching, company training, or learning design
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Project management experience
- Experience with graphic design/video editing within the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premier)
Location Requirement:
This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Design and create engaging, learning-based content in consultation with stakeholders:
- Use industry-standard e-learning tools to create courses, video content, and in-person/hybrid learning experiences.
- Leverage multimedia, AI tools, interactive elements, and emerging technologies to streamline content development and enhance learner engagement.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to ensure content meets operational and cultural needs.
- Review learning teams content to ensure learning is accurate, clear, efficient and audience appropriate.
- Maintain project documentation and update stakeholders through project management software and regular meetings with SMEs and teams.
- Support learning measurement through assessments, data reviews, and feedback loops to continuously improve learning effectiveness
Collaborate with individual stakeholders and teams to identify learning needs, create observable outcomes, design assessments, and identify methods of measuring success:
- Work with SMEs to identify the educational needs of their target audience. Collaborate with SMEs, stakeholders, and project teams to analyze learning needs and develop learning objectives.
- Develop written content, visual aids, and activities that spark engagement and enhance learning.
- Design engaging and effective instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, assessments, and other learning resources.
- Devise modes of assessment to measure learning effectiveness and project success.
- Work with LMS reporting and analytics to determine success indicators, find areas for improvement, and measure learning outcomes.
Ensure content is within brand guidelines, exemplifies current industry best practices, and demonstrates an understanding of our audience and culture:
- Ensure content retains an appropriate visual and written “voice” while demonstrating an understanding and awareness of company culture.
- Consult appropriate leadership teams to ensure current processes are incorporated into training.
- Apply current trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design to all DBU content.
- Stay current on industry trends through reading, listening to, and watching educational content.

Physical Requirements:
- In-Office Environment:Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
- Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
- Office Conditions:Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
- Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
- Hearing Requirements:Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
- Reading and Writing Proficiency:Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
- Vision Requirements:Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.
- Technology Proficiency:Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.
- Effective Communication:Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
