What to Expect

The Tesla Supply Chain Training Team seeks a motivated Instructional Designer to collaborate with the Training Manager and subject matter experts in creating innovative instructor-led and online courses, training standards, and maintaining the Inside Tesla knowledge management library. This role requires passion, creativity, and a drive to innovate.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, webinar, etc.) with clear strategies to achieve desired learning outcomes
  • Maintain, collaborate with team members, and revise existing learning products while keeping content absorbable to our specific distribution audience and learning modality
  • Serve as content manager for assimilating training development initiatives into appropriate formats while staying within timelines and adjusting to changes in priorities as needed
  • Engage with Content Experts and stakeholders to create interactive, clear, and error-free content including Standard Guides, Web-based training, Visual Distribution Center, and Presentations
  • Help establish training standards that can be used globally by different teams within Supply Chain
  • Keep up to date with current trends in Learning and Development to ensure we are taking advantage of the most up-to-date technologies and techniques
  • Act as a liaison between technical and innovative groups to solve gaps in training using methodical processes

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in an instructional field, or 5+ years of experience designing and developing training curriculum; ability to travel up to 15% if needed
  • Able to provide an eLearning portfolio or demonstrate ability to create high-quality eLearning products using design tools (Adobe Articulate, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator)
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral formats, and translate verbal information into clearly written procedures
  • Open collaborative style with ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
  • Comfortable in environments with shifting priorities and ambiguity; able to work in a high-paced environment and structure communication effectively
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and previous experience creating web-based training, technical writing, and standard guides
  • Curiosity to understand Tesla’s strategic priorities and how learning and development can best address skill and knowledge gaps in the workforce

Expected Compensation

$57,600 – $108,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
