About the Role

At Uber, providing world-class support to our partners (riders, drivers and restaurants) is critical to our success. Building the capability of our support teams to consistently deliver elevated levels of service is challenging and complex – and incredibly satisfying!

We are looking for a Learning Design Specialist who can support design for multiple learning environments, regions and/or lines of business (Eats, Rides, Safety). This role will work alongside our Community Operations team & the Global L&D team to own the design and development of scalable training materials.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop formal and experiential learning solutions to support all agent personas for multiple modalities (chat, phone, email, etc) using multiple learning tools and/or modalities
  • Create, update, and maintain learning assets housed in the LMS/LCMS
  • Adhere to global design ways of working, instructional design frameworks and quality benchmarks, ensuring consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Partner with internal team members to review and update materials based on feedback
  • Leverage the capabilities of Articulate Suite, Google Suite, Xyleme, Synthesia and other multimedia tools to improve the learner’s experience

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in training or development
  • Strong communication, time management, teamwork, collaboration, and prioritization skills
  • Previous facilitation experience
  • Some business or creative writing experience
  • Some learning design or graphic design experience
  • Relevant training certifications
  • Stakeholder management and project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong project management, and organization skills with the ability to work independently to achieve design target timelines under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
  • One completed performance cycle or a minimum of six months in a prior role
  • Advanced writing skills (concise and structured)
  • Advanced skills in Google Suite
  • Intermediate skills in adult learning theories and/or strong visual communication skills
  • Experience in Articulate Suite
  • Experience creating experiential learning assets not limited to simulations, role plays etc.
  • Experience in UX and visual/graphic design
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud, SCORM and HTML5
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Uber Business LOBs (internal only)
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Advanced writing skills: storytelling, video scripts, etc.
  • Time management, and prioritization skills
  • Basic stakeholder and Project Management skills
  • Experience with Graphic Design tools: Adobe Suite, Figma, etc.
  • Experience in video design tools: Vyond, Synthesia, etc.
  • Experience in UX and visual/graphic design
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud, SCORM and HTML5

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD$32.25 per hour.
