Do you want to shape the future of transportation training at one of the world’s largest logistics networks? As part of Amazon’s Associate Learning & Development (ALD) team, you’ll help transform how we deliver training across our transportation network. Working within defined frameworks and established strategies, you’ll collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to design and develop effective learning solutions. You’ll utilize various authoring tools and technologies to create engaging, interactive content that aligns with adult learning principles and proven instructional design methods. Your work will drive measurable learning outcomes and support the development of employees across the Transportation Operations Management (TOM) organization. Through innovative approaches to training design, you’ll ensure consistent, high-quality learning experiences that enhance safety outcomes and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities

Instructional Design & Content Development

  • Design and develop straightforward training solutions across multiple modalities (remote, in-person, digital)
  • Create original training content, facilitator guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Develop interactive learning modules using industry-standard authoring tools
  • Apply adult learning principles to optimize training effectiveness
  • Transform traditional materials into engaging digital formats

Analysis & Assessment

  • Partner with SMEs to understand business challenges, performance needs, and skills gaps
  • Execute needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and data analysis
  • Track and analyze training effectiveness metrics
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for content improvements
  • Create and maintain documentation of learning outcomes

Quality Management

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and user acceptance testing
  • Maintain version control and change management processes
  • Ensure compliance with training standards and guidelines
  • Document best practices and design standards
  • Monitor content accuracy and consistency

Project & Resource Management

  • Manage training resources and establish methodologies for frugality
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are high quality and on time
  • Track project status and provide regular updates
  • Maintain training content libraries and learning pathways
  • Support assessment creation and validation processes
  • Up to 15% travel may be required for yard environment observations and team meetings

Hourly role

A day in the life

Your day begins with reviewing ongoing content development projects and prioritizing work based on business needs. You collaborate with SMEs and ALD Strategy leaders to gather requirements and transform traditional training materials into engaging digital formats. Throughout your day, you design learning modules, create interactive elements, and conduct quality reviews. You participate in project meetings to align on content strategy and provide development updates. You analyze training effectiveness data and make recommendations for improvements while maintaining detailed documentation of all content changes. Your part of a team the directly impacts the learning experience and performance of employees across the TOM organization.

About the team

The ALD Training Strategy Team designs and implements innovative, data-driven learning strategies that elevate safety and operational excellence for Amazon’s supply chain. As part of the Learning Design pillar, you’ll work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups to drive operational excellence, maintain safety standards, and support TOM’s business objectives while focusing on continuous improvement and innovation in transportation training programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing and deploying ML products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate)
  • Background in transportation or logistics operations
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories
  • Experience creating multimedia learning content
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $70,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
