Overview of Role
Fishtank is seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic leader to be our first Managing Director of Product. This critical role will provide dedicated leadership for three core areas:
The Managing Director of Product will ensure Fishtank’s platform delivers a high-quality, intuitive user experience that supports teacher success and drives school adoption. They will oversee the product function, including platform development, user experience, data & research, and strategic vendor partnerships. Simultaneously, they will oversee the digital content operations, ensuring Fishtank’s curriculum is delivered effectively through the platform.
As the organization scales, this leader will bring strategic focus to how our platform meets educator and student needs, supports instructional goals, and integrates emerging technologies to keep Fishtank at the forefront of digital curriculum delivery. A key priority is the successful launch of Fishtank Student this school year and establishing it as a valuable instructional tool and market differentiator.
The Managing Director of Product will oversee the engineering team, the product management function, and manage key team members responsible for platform support and digital content operations along with external consultants, while also building and scaling Fishtank’s internal product team over time. A key focus will be leveraging innovative technologies, including AI-powered solutions, to enhance the platform’s capabilities and maintain Fishtank’s competitive edge.
Over time, this role will build and oversee Fishtank’s data and research function, using analytics and user insights to continuously improve the product and demonstrate impact.
While primarily internally focused, this role will also represent Fishtank in key meetings with partners, vendors, and at select conferences. Some travel (no more than four times per year) may be required.
This role reports directly to the CEO and will play a critical role in building Fishtank’s long-term product function and organizational impact.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $125,000- $160,000, depending on experience. Competitive benefits are available.
