About Strava

Strava is the app for active people. With over 180 million athletes in more than 185 countries, it’s more than tracking workouts—it’s where people make progress together, from new habits to new personal bests. No matter your sport or how you track it, Strava’s got you covered. Find your crew, crush your goals, and make every effort count. Start your journey with Strava today.

Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.

About This Role

As Senior People Programs & Development Manager, you’ll design and deliver learning and enablement experiences that help employees grow, managers lead effectively, and teams do their best work. This role focuses on building practical, accessible development programs that support Strava’s culture, values, and business priorities as we scale.

You’ll partner closely with People Business Partners, People Operations, Talent, and business leaders to translate real challenges into meaningful learning experiences—ensuring that development at Strava is relevant, usable, and impactful.

This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and influence.

We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site in our San Francisco office — three days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and deliver foundational development experiences across Strava, including manager training, inclusive practices, interviewer training, and role-based enablement.
  • Lead the evolution of Strava’s manager development ecosystem (e.g., Manager 101, Find Your Stride), ensuring managers are equipped with practical tools they can apply immediately.
  • Own and continuously improve learning and enablement embedded within onboarding—helping new hires understand expectations, ways of working, and what success looks like at Strava.
  • Build and maintain a clear, accessible learning framework that helps employees understand how to grow and succeed at Strava.
  • Partner with People Business Partners and People Operations to analyze engagement data, onboarding feedback, and lifecycle insights to inform targeted learning interventions and support.
  • Use data (engagement surveys, pulse surveys, participation metrics, qualitative feedback) to shape priorities and iterate on programs over time.
  • Support company-wide change and enablement efforts by developing learning and communication assets that help employees navigate new tools, processes, and expectations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure learning programs are inclusive, scalable, and aligned with Strava’s values and culture.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of experience in learning, development, enablement, or people programs—ideally in a high-growth or scaling organization.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering practical learning programs for managers and employees.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs and employee signals into clear, engaging development experiences.
  • Comfort working with engagement data, surveys, and qualitative insights to guide interventions.
  • Experience working with learning platforms (LMS) and content management systems.
  • A pragmatic, people-first mindset—you value clarity, access, and real-world application over theory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
