This role leads the development and implementation of Amazon’s Role-Based Identifier (RBI) certification system for continuous improvement capabilities. You’ll be part of the innovative development of a comprehensive framework that enables career mobility and standardized skill validation across operations. The position requires expertise in learning and development and certification design to build scalable products that support clear career pathways. This role drives the creation of integrated, AI-enabled certifications and personalized learning journeys while partnering across Amazon operations to ensure alignment and adoption of RBI standards. Success in this position demands experience in training, certification program development, technical products, and proven ability to launch technical learning products.

Goals:
– Successfully launch 3 Role-Based Identifiers (RBIs) and 9 AI assessments by the end of 2026
– Create market-ready RBI certification program recognized by industry

Key job responsibilities
– Collaborate on internal RBI certification system across Amazon operations
– Design RBI certifications for high-priority continuous development topics
– Design AI evaluations and personalized learning recommendations
– Write strategy documents, Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), and Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) to manage product designs
– Coordinate development and quality control of materials
– Identify onboarding efficiencies based on certification completion
– Develop robust external validation process, potentially
– Partner across Amazon operations to ensure stakeholder alignment
– Drive adoption of RBI standards across the organization

A day in the life
Your day starts with strategic planning, reviewing certification tracking metrics and preparing for stakeholder meetings across operations. Mid-morning, you shift to technical work—debugging Python scripts, reviewing API integrations, and testing new dashboard features. You collaborate with subject matter experts to design RBI assessments and coordinate content development, ensuring quality and alignment with military-based frameworks. After lunch, you write strategy documents and technical documentation while prototyping machine learning models for personalized learning recommendations. You troubleshoot system integrations and analyze data from the certification dashboard to measure progress toward your goals. Your day wraps with stakeholder communication, reviewing pilot feedback, and planning tomorrow’s priorities—constantly balancing strategic product management, hands-on coding, instructional design, and cross-functional collaboration.

Basic Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Technical Training, Design, or a related field
– Experience applying concepts of learning science, educational psychology, and instructional design principles to learning solutions
– Experience using data analytics to drive learning strategy and demonstrate business impact
– Experience using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, Vyond, and Captivate and other video editing and graphic design software
– Experience in one or more IT infrastructure domains (storage, compute, networking, security, software development, systems administration, database engineering or administration, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, big data, DevOps, or other IT infrastructure domain)

Preferred Qualifications

– Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
