Description

We are seeking a skilled Sr. LMS Specialist to manage and maintain the Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD) team’s training catalog across our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accuracy and quality standardization across all products. This role acts as the main connection between the GOLD team, program teams, and the LMS product team, ensuring the platform contains the functionality required to meet program needs. The right candidate will have a good technical understanding of LMS platforms, e-learning standards, and experience working with different teams to deliver programs smoothly.

This position requires a strong delivery record and proven program management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and learning projects and programs. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing standard LMS processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior leadership on status, risks and process/product changes. The role requires a strong mix of technical knowledge, project coordination, and the ability to advise program managers and leaders on how to utilize the LMS optimally for the learner experience.

This is a senior-level position that requires a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, strong leadership skills and strategic thought leadership. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving our organization’s value proposition and digital transformation efforts.

This role focuses on fostering strategic partnerships to ensure a holistic approach to LMS management, aligning with organizational goals and operational needs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage the content and data within Amazon’s LMSs and ensure accuracy and standardization across all programs 
  • Partner with the product team to ensure the LMS functionality meets the optimal requirements for the organizations content 
  • Develop and document comprehensive LMS standards and training materials to establish consistent guidelines to promote effective usage and standardization across the organization 
  • Serve as the single threaded owner between GOLD and the LMS product team on feature prioritization and LMS enhancements per the organization’s learner requirements 
  • Collaborate with and support program teams who utilize the system for their individual programs to outline project scopes, prioritize initiatives, establish milestones, and foster successful program delivery 
  • Consult and direct program managers and business leaders on how programs should interact with the LMS 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and subject matter experts to implement programs 
  • Provide final review and learning paths, e-learning and ILT structuring prior to program launch

Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD) exists to enhance employee experiences and to help employees across Worldwide Operations (WW Ops) and People Experience and Technology (PXT) Teams reach their full potential. The team accomplishes this mission by creating Learning and Development (L&D) solutions that follow an employee throughout their entire journey, from instilling Amazonian culture from Day 1 and continuing through employee growth via our career acceleration programs.

The Facilitation and Coordination Team (FACT) supports Associate and Leader Experience (ALE) programs as part of the GOLD organization. FACT works to provide world-class learning experience and Learning Management System (LMS) support, focused on Level 3-8 Operators and Leaders in North America and Europe and is responsible for training logistics and facilitation. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
  • Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
  • Experience managing time efficiently, meeting personal goals, and working effectively with internal, partner, and customer teams
  • Experience managing reporting and analysis
  • 5+ years of LMS administration on major LMS platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of e-learning authoring tools and output.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS coding, as well as responsive web design on both desktop and mobile platforms
  • Experience with adult learning instructional design methods and best practices
  • Knowledge of SCORM and xAPI standard outputs

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
