Position Overview

The Manager, Instructional Designer serves as the strategic and operational owner of instructional design at Core, responsible for the architecture, development, governance, and continuous improvement of scalable learning solutions that enable operational excellence across onsite and corporate teams. This role leads the translation of complex business priorities, systems, workflows, and policy changes into high-impact learning experiences that drive consistency, accelerate adoption, improve performance, and support the employee and resident experience. 

This individual operates as Core’s primary instructional design expert and consultative partner to cross-functional stakeholders, exercising independent judgment to assess business needs, identify performance gaps, determine the most effective learning approach, and prioritize solutions aligned to organizational goals. The role is accountable not only for content development, but also for establishing instructional design standards, influencing stakeholder decisions, ensuring learning quality and accessibility, and evaluating the effectiveness of training investments across the business.  

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, deep expertise in adult learning and content design, exceptional project ownership, and the ability to lead through influence in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, evolving processes, and high visibility initiatives. experience outcomes. 

What You Will Do

Instructional Design Strategy, Governance, and Business Alignment 

  • Own the end-to-end instructional design function, including needs analysis, solution design, development, launch, measurement, and continuous optimization. 
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for learning strategy, determining modality, scope, structure, and reinforcement approach based on business goals, risk, complexity, and operational impact. 
  • Establish and maintain instructional design standards, governance practices, templates, accessibility expectations, and version control to ensure scalable, high-quality learning aligned to business priorities. 
  • Drive structure and prioritization of training requests, ensuring resources are aligned to high-impact initiatives and operational needs. 
  • Act as a trusted consultant to stakeholders, clarifying business objectives, identifying performance gaps, and translating complex or ambiguous needs into effective learning solutions. 
  • Influence decisions on training scope, rollout readiness, sequencing, and learner experience using sound judgment and business context. 
  • Align all learning solutions to operational priorities, platform adoption, compliance requirements, and measurable performance outcomes. 
  • Own and manage a centralized content mapping strategy within SharePoint to support quality assurance, alignment, and traceability across learning assets. 

Learning Solution Design, Development, and Operational Enablement 

  • Design and deliver scalable, learner-centered training across digital, blended, and live formats, including e-learning, video, simulations, facilitator-led materials, and performance support tools. 
  • Translate complex workflows, systems, policies, and reporting requirements into clear, practical, and role-relevant learning that drives consistent execution. 
  • Develop content supporting onboarding, systems training, operational rollouts, compliance initiatives, and enterprise programs across key business functions. 
  • Lead training development for high-impact operational areas, including leasing, onsite operations, resident experience, financial processes, compliance, and systems adoption. 
  • Develop digital adoption and workflow resources that improve system accuracy, process adherence, and user confidence. 
  • Ensure all learning content remains current and aligned with evolving systems, policies, and operational practices.

LMS, Content Publishing, and Learning Operations 

  • Own LMS content publishing, testing, maintenance, and optimization to ensure accuracy, functionality, and accessibility. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure learning content is effectively deployed and organized for target audiences. 
  • Manage quality assurance, stakeholder review cycles, and launch readiness. 
  • Maintain structured, audit-ready content libraries, source files, and workflows that support consistency, governance, and scalability. 

Measurement, Optimization, and Continuous Improvement 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions using learner feedback, LMS data, completion trends, support tickets, audit findings, stakeholder input, knowledge checks, adoption metrics, and business performance indicators. 
  • Identify content gaps, learner friction points, and opportunities to improve training relevance, usability, speed, retention, and business impact. 
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to learning experiences, design processes, and content production methods based on data, stakeholder feedback, operational outcomes, and emerging business needs. 
  • Continuously assess opportunities to improve the scalability and efficiency of Core’s learning ecosystem through better design practices, stronger governance, reusable templates, and smarter use of technology.

Multimedia and Learning Technology 

  • Develop multimedia learning assets, including video and interactive content, ensuring quality, accessibility, and alignment with learning objectives. 
  • Leverage instructional design tools and platforms to create modern, engaging learning experiences. 
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and AI-enabled solutions to improve speed, consistency, and learner outcomes. 

Influence, Support, and Functional Leadership 

  • Provide instructional design guidance, quality review, templates, and best practices to teammates and subject matter experts contributing to training materials, raising the overall standard, consistency, and effectiveness of learning content across the organization. 
  • Lead through expertise and influence rather than direct people management, serving as a functional leader for instructional design decisions, content quality, and learner experience. 
  • Support company meetings, conferences, summits, workshops, and other high-visibility initiatives by developing supporting content, presentation materials, participant activities, facilitator resources, and post-event reinforcement tools. 
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and accountability in managing competing priorities, navigating ambiguity, making recommendations, and delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight. 

Ideally, You’ll Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, Communications, Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in instructional design, learning and development, or training content development. 
  • Demonstrated ownership of the full instructional design lifecycle, including needs analysis, design, development, deployment, and evaluation. 
  • Proven ability to design and deliver diverse learning solutions, including e-learning, video, facilitator-led materials, and performance support resources. 
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learner engagement strategies. 
  • Ability to translate complex operational, technical, and policy-driven content into clear, practical learning experiences. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and timelines in a dynamic environment. 
  • Excellent written, visual, and editing skills with a high standard for clarity, accuracy, and usability. 
  • Experience partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to clarify needs, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions. 
  • Hands-on experience with LMS platforms, including content publishing, SCORM packages, assessments, and learning paths. 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, influence decisions, and operate with ownership and accountability. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint). 
  • Experience supporting operationally driven environments (e.g., student housing, multifamily, hospitality) preferred. 
  • Experience supporting system rollouts, process implementations, or platform adoption initiatives preferred. 
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including the ability to review and validate translated content, preferred. 

You’ll crush it if you have experience with

  • Experience with PHQ/Grace Hill, PerformanceHQ, Edge2Learn, or similar learning platforms. 
  • Advanced experience with Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise. 
  • Experience with Vyond, AI-enabled video and voiceover tools, captioning workflows, and translation coordination. 
  • Experience using IORAD, Scribe, or similar digital adoption and screen-capture tutorial tools. 
  • Working knowledge of SCORM packaging, publishing, and troubleshooting. 
  • Experience with Canva and visual content design tools. 
  • Familiarity with ticketing or support systems such as HappyFox or similar platforms. 
  • Exposure to property management, sales, and operating systems such as Entrata, Yardi, Paycom, Leonardo247, EliseAI, Rently, Bonfire, Concur, Pigment, Smartsheet, or comparable tools.

Pay Range

USD $105,000.00 – USD $110,000.00 /Yr. 

Additional Compensation

Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, typically 15% of base salary annually, depending on individual and organizational performance.

The compensation range listed reflects the base salary or hourly rate that we reasonably and in good faith expect to offer for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, seniority, geographic location, and business needs.

This role may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, including bonuses, commissions, stipends, or non-cash incentives, depending on position and performance. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other role-based offerings, subject to eligibility requirements. 

All compensation components are subject to change based on business needs or market conditions.
