The Extended Education Program Manager supports the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of a defined portfolio of credit and non-credit programs. The role serves as the main contact for instructors, clients and other stakeholders, supporting program development and review, instructor hiring and contracting, and guiding content development and instructional design across all phases from initiation through evaluation. This position also builds and sustains program vendor relationships and ensures offerings remain responsive to learner needs and aligned with organizational and workforce development goals.

Type Of Supervision:

Receive direction from the Extended Education Program Director.

  • Direction – indicates that the incumbent attains specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed. Incumbent typically develops procedures within the limits of established policy guidelines.

Position Duties And Responsibilities:  

Essential Functions: 

Program Management

  • Supports the Extended Education portfolio for Corporate Training, Business, Technology, Behavioral Health, Dual Credit, International Programs.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of program delivery including multiple programs, priorities, deadlines, courses and program schedules.
  • Supports program development, implementation and continuous review of program areas initiated by directors and dean.
  • Develops best practices and tools for effective program delivery and provides status and recommendation reports for program review.
  • Supervises support staff responsible for registration, customer service and other student services functions.
  • Supports instructor hiring processes, creates and tracks instructor contracts, and monitors instructor time submission.
  • Partners with instructors on content development (e.g. PowerPoint presentations) and may lead program orientations and client kickoff meetings.
  • Interacts regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including high-level program partners and/or corporate clients.
  • Assists with development of strategic partnerships and maintains, manages, and further develops program vendor relationships.
  • Maintains, manages and expands vendor driven programming by collaborating with partner organizations to design and deliver customized training solutions.

Corporate Training, Business, Behavioral Health and International

  • Facilitates virtual workshops for corporate clients utilizing Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
  • Provides in-person training for corporate clients
  • Attends in-person Capstone presentations for corporate clients
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Position Specifications And Requirements:

Education, Experience, Certification And/Or Licenses:

Corporate Training, Business, Behavioral Health and International

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent related work experience
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in talent development, training, or program management, or related field
  • Two (2) or more years’ managerial experience

Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Effective program management skills and ability to manage competing priorities across several programs simultaneously
  • Knowledge of common concepts/educational/credential/licensure requirements within the assigned portfolio
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, providing clear direction, coaching and support to achieve program goals
  • Relationship-building and partnership development skills to maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Knowledge of budgeting basics, contracts and vendor management practices and the ability to work within budget constraints
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, respond promptly and professionally, and resolve issues with a solution-focused approach

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software:  Personal computer and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including word, excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

This position is a remote position located in the United States. 

Eligible remote locations in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin

Unless otherwise indicated, work hours are based on Pacific Time (PST). Employees must be available for collaboration during core hours from 10am to 3pm (PST).

The hiring range for this position is $60,000-$72,000 per year. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographical location, knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
