About the Session
In this presentation I aim to discuss e-learning content from a communication theory perspective. We will discuss how the incorporation of digital media elements into e-learning content can accomplish multiple objectives at once. As well, how the use of digital media elements can create a stronger connection between teacher and student when used correctly.
Learning Outcomes
  • Create an understanding of key theories and frameworks (Social Penetration Theory, Social Exposure Theory, Sweller’s Multimedia Principle). (These may be subject to change).
  • Recall key definitions of theories stated above
  • Audience will be able to recall how OSU Engineering creates digital media content for their certificate based classes
