Teamed (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is the data controller for personal information collected through the Site. This means we determine the purposes and means of processing your data.

By using the Services, you consent to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Age Restriction

Teamed is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@teamedforlearning.com.

Information from Third Parties

If you register using a third-party service (such as Google or LinkedIn), we may receive information from that service consistent with your privacy settings there. You may review and update this information in your profile at any time.

4. AI-Assisted Features and Data Use

Teamed uses AI-assisted systems to support matching, recommendations, search ranking, and platform personalization.

Here is what you should know about how your data is used in these systems:

AI features use your profile data, stated preferences, and activity to generate recommendations and improve relevance
AI does not make employment decisions — it supports human decision-making only
AI systems do not determine eligibility for jobs or guarantee outcomes
Your data may be used to improve the accuracy and performance of Teamed’s AI models, in anonymized or aggregated form where possible
We analyze how your profile moves through the hiring funnel — how often it appears in search, is viewed, saved, or leads to interview invitations — to show you where your job search is succeeding and where it may be stalling.
We may compare your results to aggregated, anonymized benchmarks of professionals with similar roles, experience levels, skills, and rates (“peer benchmarks”) to generate personalized guidance. These comparisons rely only on job-related factors and never on protected characteristics such as race, national origin, citizenship, age, or sex.
This guidance is informational and designed to help you. It does not determine your eligibility for any role, and the diagnostic insights we share with you are not shown to employers.
You can control your visibility and consent settings in your account

You control who can find you — Teamed’s recruiters, hiring managers at companies, and/or AI introductions — and can change this at any time in your account. We honor these settings and our AI does not override them. Depending on your choices: our AI may recommend roles to you; may surface your profile to hiring managers as a potential match for their roles; and, where you have enabled AI introductions, may identify you as a match and contact you first — sharing your profile with a specific employer only after you approve that introduction. We may also use platform data, including historical data, in de-identified or aggregated form to develop and improve our matching and recommendation systems; this work does not identify you, and you can opt out of it in your account settings.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Create and manage your account
Provide and improve the Services
Support matching, recommendations, and AI-assisted features
Process payments and prevent fraud
Communicate with you about the Services, opportunities, and updates
Maintain platform safety and integrity
Comply with legal obligations
Provide personalized insights and guidance about your job search, including how your profile is performing and suggested improvements.

We will always ask for your consent before using your data for a materially different purpose not described here.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Teamed processes your personal information on the following legal bases:

Consent — you have given us permission to process your data for specific purposes
Contract performance — processing is necessary to provide the Services you have requested
Legal obligation — we may be required by law to retain or process certain data
Legitimate interests — we process data to operate and improve the platform, prevent fraud, and protect users, where these interests are not overridden by your rights

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

Employers, consistent with your consent and visibility settings
Where you have made your profile discoverable, employers may also see limited engagement signals that help them gauge fit and responsiveness — such as your general availability, recency of activity, and whether your stated rate aligns with a role.
We do not share your application or rejection history, which employers have viewed or passed on you, or the personal job-search diagnostics we provide to you.
Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payments, analytics, email delivery, ATS systems) — these providers are bound by confidentiality obligations
EOR partners for contractor engagements you participate in
Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users

Consistent with your visibility settings, we may make your profile discoverable to hiring managers, surface it to them as a potential match for specific roles, or — where you have enabled AI introductions — share it with a specific employer for a specific role only after you approve that introduction. Teamed’s own recruiters may also access your profile to consider you for roles and contact you, where you have allowed this.

We require all third-party service providers to handle your data securely and only for permitted purposes.

8. International Data Transfers

Teamed operates from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

We use reasonable safeguards — including standard contractual clauses where applicable — to protect your data in cross-border transfers. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory local laws, including GDPR for users in the European Economic Area.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
Deletion — request that your data be deleted (subject to legal retention requirements)
Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
Portability — request your data in a portable format
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based

Users in California have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information) and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

Users in the European Economic Area have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. General retention guidelines:

Active account data — retained for the life of your account
Profile and professional data — retained for up to 3 years after account closure, or as required to resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations
Payment records — retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial and tax recordkeeping requirements
Communications and support records — retained for up to 3 years
Usage and analytics data — retained for up to 2 years in identifiable form; may be retained longer in anonymized or aggregated form

If you withdraw consent to use your data to improve our systems, we stop using your identifiable data for that purpose going forward; insights already incorporated into our models in anonymized or aggregated form cannot be reversed.

You may request earlier deletion of your data by contacting support@teamedforlearning.com. We will delete your information in accordance with applicable law and notify you in writing when deletion is complete.

11. Confidentiality

We treat your confidential information with the same care we apply to our own. We will not disclose your Confidential Information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law or as described in this policy. Access to your information is limited to Teamed staff and authorized partners who need it to provide the Services.

12. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

13. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Teamed uses cookies and similar technologies to support platform functionality, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and deliver relevant content.
