The College of General Studies seeks an Instructional Designer (Technology Focus) to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of online asynchronous and hybrid courses. This role emphasizes hands-on instructional technology, LMS course building, and digital media production. The position works collaboratively with faculty, instructional designers, and online learning staff to deliver engaging, accessible, and high-quality learning experiences. 

This is a temporary, project-based position reporting to the Supervisor of Online Instructional Design. This position offers a hybrid schedule. Applicants must submit a resume, cover letter, and work samples relevant to job skills.

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree in Multimedia Production, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Experience:

  • No prior professional experience required;

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with online course development, instructional technology, or digital media production is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas preferred) and e-learning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, H5P, Powtoon, Storyline, Storyblocks, etc.).
  • Proficiency with media production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Panopto).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and online learning best practices.
