What to Expect
The Learning Systems Specialist (LSS) at the Solar Manufacturing Operations team is a technical and analytical role focused on the administration and optimization of learning systems, data infrastructure, and performance tracking mechanisms at our upcoming solar manufacturing facility. As a launch role, the LSS will be instrumental in standing up the learning technology infrastructure to support rapid ramp-up of manufacturing operations. The Learning Systems Specialist ensures that all learning programs are scalable, measurable, and aligned with organizational KPIs. By leveraging data tools, automation, and learning analytics, the LSS enables skill transfer and continuous improvement across training programs. While training content is primarily defined by engineering and production teams, the LSS partners with Training Coordinators to organize, format, and manage this content within learning systems. The role collaborates closely with Content Creators, Training Coordinators, and other teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
What You’ll Do
- Learning System Administration & Architecture: Architect, configure, and maintain scalable learning ecosystems, integrating LMS platforms, data sources (e.g., SharePoint, performance metrics), and automation tools to support manufacturing training workflows
- Data Engineering & Insight Delivery: Build and manage data pipelines and interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Python) to visualize training KPIs, learner progress, and certification compliance for real-time decision-making
- Certification & Competency Management: Own the solar manufacturing skill matrix and certification lifecycle—ensuring accurate tracking, validation, and alignment with operational standards across manufacturing roles
- Instructional Content & Experience Optimization: Develop engaging, multimedia learning content (e-learning, simulations, videos) and implement adaptive learning paths using AI and automation to improve engagement and knowledge retention. Partner with Content Creators and Training Coordinators to transform engineering and production-defined content into structured, effective learning experiences
- Workflow & Scheduling Automation: Streamline training delivery by automating scheduling for Online Trainings (OLTs) and Instructor-Led Trainings (ILTs), resource allocation, and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps, and custom scripts to minimize downtime and maximize availability
- Impact-Driven Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Deliver data-backed impact analysis (ROI, behavior change, KPI trends), support the ADDIE model, and present insights to stakeholders to drive strategic improvements and justify learning investments
- Innovation & Process Optimization: Champion process optimization, data governance, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven learning analytics), while collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to align systems with business goals and solve operational challenges
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or 4 years of equivalent experience in learning systems administration or training data analytics, with coursework in adult learning theories or technical training methodologies
- Proficient in data pipeline design and integration of systems such as LMS, SharePoint and performance data, using tools like Power BI or Tableau for visualization, and Python for automation
- Experienced in managing Learning Management Systems, including course deployment, user access, content organization, and system scalability
- Skilled in creating dashboards and generating reports on training impact, KPIs, ROI, certification compliance, and skill matrix tracking
- Proficient with content development tools; experience with Storyline or Rise is a plus
- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with teams and peers across various parts of the Manufacturing organization
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus; Graphic Design and/or Premiere Pro skills are a plus
